Marine Spadea backs Army's Doherty

Bill Spadea, a conservative activist and the Republican candidate for Congress against Rush Holt in 2004, will serve on Michael Doherty's U.S. Senate Exploratory Commitee.  Spadea was an early supporter of Thomas Kean, Jr. in the 2006 Senate race.

blow out

Spadea got a lot of hype in '04...but let's keep in mind that he got blown out.

Hype?

The only hype that Spadea got was self-created. He had all those red shirt volunteers supposedly but as Wally wrote then, "no one has seen the red shirt volunteers." Spadea is too conservative for Central Jersey. He should move to Warren County and run for office there.

Doherty has a plan to get widespread support

For the casual commenter, it is easy to take shots at supporters of Mike Doherty one at a time, but if you look as the broad spectrum of people who are now supporting him one will observe many different Republican points of view. Those who want to define Doherty as just being very conservative might just be quite surprised how well his foreign policy and immigration message resonates with all Republicans.

Congressman Garret, Senator Lance, Assemblywoman Karrow, Steve Lonegan, and now Bill Spadea. Let's see who is next.... remember it's only May of 2007.
