“I am proud to be running with Scott Rumana in the primary on June 2nd,” Christie told the cheering crowd at the Wayne event -- which included a fund-raising dinner sponsored by the Wayne Regular Republican Organization and a free rally co-sponsored by the Wayne Republican Club, the Passaic County Republican Women’s Club, and the Passaic County Young Republicans.
Assemblyman Scott Rumana (R-40th District – Passaic, Bergen, Essex) returned Christie’s compliment calling the former U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, “the best chance the Republicans have to defeat Governor Jon Corzine and bring New Jersey out of the death spiral it is in right now.”
Christie and Rumana along with Rumana’s running mate, Assemblyman Dave Russo, will be on the Passaic County Regular Republican Organization’s line in the Republican Primary.
Recent polls put Christie ahead of his Republican opponents and Governor Jon Corzine.
“Chris Christie is the change that New Jersey needs after years of Democrat control – which have left our state at the top of the list in all the wrong categories,” explained Rumana, who also serves as Chairman of the Passaic County Regular Republican Organization.
Linda L. Whalen, President of the Passaic County Women’s Club, Co-Borough Leader of Haledon, and President of the Haledon Republican Club, called the energy at the event “incredible.” “Chris Christie is a dynamic leader committed to doing the right thing for the people of New Jersey. We couldn’t have asked for a better candidate to go up against Governor Jon Corzine,” said Whalen.
