Ewing, NJ - Tonight Mayor Steve Lonegan proved once again that he is the only candidate prepared to take on the responsibilities of the Governorship and turn New Jersey around. Mayor Lonegan offered clear and specific proposals to slash the size of New Jersey's bloated government, reduce spending, and reform New Jersey's destructive and immoral tax policies.
Christie repeatedly failed to answer direct questions, instead dodging inquiries about his lack of a tax cut plan, his support of the Abbott School Funding formula, and his association with a down-ballot candidate who recently attacked the patriotism of State Senate candidate Mike Doherty who is a conservative leader in the Assembly, a West Point Graduate, and a father of three sons serving on active duty in the military.
Alarmingly, Christie also failed to promise to appoint four new, conservative judges to the State Supreme Court and he evaded an inquiry about his support for a bill that would preclude the government from forcing children to undergo government-mandated vaccinations.
While Lonegan offered an authentically conservative message grounded in the principles and values that one made New Jersey an economic powerhouse and a great place to raise a family, Christie offered more of the same inadequate vision for conservative change that has crippled New Jersey's business climate and culture.
