Working NJ Supports Linda Stender for Congress
New Jersey State AFL-CIO Endorses Stender’s Campaign at Annual Meeting in Atlantic City.
(SCOTCH PLAINS) Representing more than one million unionized workers in New Jersey, the New Jersey Chapter of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) announced its endorsement of Linda Stender for Congress on Wednesday, June 15, 2006.
"By her actions throughout her career in public service, Linda Stender has earned the endorsement of the labor movement in her bid to join New Jersey's Congressional delegation," stated Charles Wowkanech, president of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO. "As a member of the House of Representatives, Linda Stender will be a strong voice for working families, stand up to the anti-worker administration of George Bush, and fight for basic human rights such as fair pay, affordable health care and a voice on the job."
"I'm honored to receive the support of individuals working to make New Jersey better," affirmed Stender. “The working families of NJ are the ones who struggle the most due to the effects of Bush-Ferguson policies."
"These families are demanding a change for more affordable and accessible health care. They’re also tired of paying $4 a gallon for gasoline while Washington gives billion dollar tax breaks to oil companies.."
Working New Jersey joins Linda Stender for Congress in pushing for sensible policies from Washington. The AFL-CIO endorsement is the latest in a massive movement of support for Linda Stender for Congress. To date, Linda boasts endorsements from national organizations including EMILY’s List, Democracy for America, and the Sierra Club, among many others.
The AFL-CIO is a voluntary federation of labor unions, representing nearly 9 million working women and men nationwide and another 1 million members of Working America.

“She has already chosen the interests of the insurance industry over the health care needs of working people, she took millions from Wall Street as the economy went into a meltdown, and now she wants to purchase a job in Congress at a time when so many have lost their jobs because of the actions of big bankers and others." -- Monmouth County Democrats spokesman Mike Mangan, on Republican Diane Gooch, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone.

Where to begin?
1. Is civics 101 where you learned how much the AFL charges to move cartons at a trade show? I must have missed that day in class.
2. I'm sure they taught you in civics 101 that Americans born in the US dont need to take a citizenship oath.
3. I never referred to myself as an educated American, but compared to you i have a frickin PhD.
4. And may I suggest before you challenge me to take a civics test, you may want to try your hand at an english proficiency exam? Just a thought.
