Layton may be Burlco GOP Chairman

Burlington County Republicans held off an aggressive and well-financed challenge from South Jersey Democrats this week, winning races for State Senate and Assembly in the 8th district -- a GOP pickup after Francis Bodine switched parties -- and contests for Freeholder and Sheriff.  Glenn Paulsen, who returned as the key party leader after a brief hiatus and helped depose Burlington County GOP Chairman Michael Warner, seems to be strong -- despite a public feud with State Senator Diane Allen.

But Paulsen is not expected to return to the chairmanship; he'll do what George Norcross did in Camden County and loom large as the power behind the scenese.  He is expected to ask Republicans to elect his ally (and neighbor), lobbyist Bill Layton, as the new County Chairman.  No date has been set for the election, and Dawn Lacey continues to serve as Acting Chair.

Some Republicans seem impressed with Layton's leadership during the 2006 general -- he ran the day to day campaign -- and it seems that the former New Jersey Republican State Committee Political Director won't meet with much opposition when Republicans finally meet to pick a Warner replacement.

Layton Will Be Chair

After an impressive win by Bill Layton in Tuesday's election, I can see no other choice than to reward Layton with the Chairmanship.

Lets Hope for someone better

The Burlington County GOP needs a fresh face to move the party forward. Bill Layton is not the answer. He is a Trenton Lobbyist and I don't want someone who may put his own political agenda over the good of the organization running the show. We should be looking for a better alternative then Bill Layton.

Back at it again Sean (Burlcorep)?

After winning an election that the GOP was outspent 2 to 1, Layton should be comended. We have never seen such an onslaught and for us to win by big numbers shows that the right team is in place to continue our winning ways.

When is the vote? I will be there and voting for Bill Layton.

We Won for Martha?!

Anyone with that mentality has no place in the party today.  Aside from these pathetic posts by Layton(CBS3) and Paulsen (WEWON4MARTHA), the fact that noone else is getting in line to commend Layton for a job well done speaks VOLUMES. (Not too many people were impressed with his bizarre behavior at Dadz either.)

The candidates won the election, not Bill Layton, and in fact, they won IN SPITE OF Bill Layton.

Wally, how do you square this "news story" with the email I just received? Not two hours ago, I personally recieved an email from the Burlington County Republicans in support of Dawn Lacy that was signed by none other than Dian Allen, Phil Haines, Jean Stanfield, Bill Haines and Jim Wujick. So WHO is supporting Layton besides Paulsen and Rich Levesque? Sounds to me like Lacy is the legitimate Chair and Layton is still nothing more than Glen Paulsen's neighbor.

Well Said

Commonsense couldn't have said it any better.

I got a very interesting email today from Phil Haines, Jim Wujcik, Bill Haines, Diane Allen and Jean Stanfield announcing they support Dawn Lacy. Its good to see the good honorable officials in Burlington County know that Bill Layton is not right for the party.

CBS3...i'm glad to hear you will be voting for yourself.

I also got a pathetic email from Layton telling me that he received Statewide praise from politicsnj.

I wasn't aware that Wally Edge saying Layton might be Chair is statewide praise.....a pathetic attempt on the part of desperate people.

Leadership?

Wally, are you serious? "Some people are impressed with his leadership"? Bill Layton is the only person impressed with Bill Layton. I'm pretty sure to be a leader, there has to be somebody following.

Bill took a relatively unknown opponent, who has done nothing but win one municipal election a few months earlier, and when he was done her name and message were in the New York Times, CN8, Philadelphia radio talk shows, all local papers, all over PoliticsNJ, and a federal judge was professing sympathy for her. Then they spend a few more hundred grand to "defeat" her. All that money wasted. What a joke.

Hey Dummy - lets look at the numbers

Outspent at least 2 to 1 and still pulled out a huge victory. I would rather have Layton and Paulsen. Layton deserves what Wally said and more!

BTW -Where was Lacey thoughout the election? Didn't hear one peep out of her. Seems as if all of a sudden the election is over and now she decides to pop up out of obscurity. Thanks for all your help Dawn.

Lacey and company can send out all the emails and letter they want my money is on Bill and Glenn, they will win this one and you can take that to the bank - Remember what they did to Warner, this aint going to be pretty.

Take THIS to the Bank

"Hey dummy."

"Remember what they did to Warner-- this ain't gonna be pretty."

???

Name-calling and threatening tactics, gee, that sounds just like a certain little Napoleonic fellow we all know and love.

BTW- how's that investigation going, "Win won for Martha?"

Dawn Lacy's support is growing exponentially, people are sick and tired of the bullying.  I wouldn't go running to Paine Weber just yet.

Boss Paulsen Pleased

Isn't this Boss Paulsen's neighbor and confidante? If so, he seems perfect for an organization that flourishes on backroom deals, nepotism and dirty politics.

Got a letter from Phil Haines today

Looks like Lacey's house of cards is about to come crashing down.

WeWon4Martha

Stop patting yourself on the back Glenn. Nobody else is supporting you. Your not right for Burlington County. And you of all people should be careful not to throw stones. When is Bob Stears sentencing?

WeWon4Martha

I agree that the house of cards is coming down.

If Layton were running things 2 years ago Vince would be Surrogate now. The Lacey/Allen Kabal wants to take us back to that time when we lost...So Sad.

Hey WeWon, do you think Allen is doing this so that she can use BurlcoGop money to finance a failed congressional run? We shoudld start an Anybody But Allen campaign for Congress.

ABA all the way.

Bad Taste

The letter Phil Haines SIGNED basically says Lacey has taken the following actions: A, B, and C, for the good of the party, and she has my full support. Now he claims he didn't understand what was he signed?

Looks like he will fit perfectly in Trenton.

Hey Phil, Listerine will probably get that taste out of your mouth.

CBS3 (William F. Layton)

Stop it. Please your attempts to make yourself seem relevant in Burl Co are pathetic. You are a lowly political hack for Glenn Paulsen and are nothing more than a county committee drone for Paulsen from Riverton.

Senator Allen would be an excellent candidate for Congress because of her ability to appeal to many different people as proven by her continued victorys in Democrat heavy District 7.

The people of Congressional District 3 would be lucky to have Senator Allen represent them in Washington.

I hear there is a group ABB (Anybody But Bill) that has formed to make sure you remain irrelevant in Burlington County.

Can anyone answer me the following questions?

1. When is Bob Stears getting sentenced?

2. Does Glenn Paulsen actually hold any elected or appointed position in Burlington County?

and finally

3. When will Bill Layton realize the campaigns are over and nobody cares what he thinks?
