U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg has picked state AFL-CIO staffer Steve Lenox as his new District Director. Lenox replaces Joseph Waks, who stepped down to pursue other opportunities.
Lenox has been the Legislative Affairs Coordinator for the New Jersey State AFL-CIO since May 2004, and served as chief of staff for Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein from 2003-2004 as well as in various positions for New Brunswick Mayor James Cahill from 1999-2003. Since 2002, Lenox has served as the President of Democrats 2000, a New Jersey-based organization that offers young Democrats greater opportunities to participate in the political process.
“Steve is an experienced leader with the know-how to get things done for New Jersey,” said Senator Lautenberg. “We welcome him to our team and look forward to working with him.”
