Casha Proposes “Truth in Campaigning Act”
Seeks to protect voters from negative, misleading campaign tactics
(MONTVILLE, NJ) – Flanked by Freeholder John Murphy, Kinnelon Mayor Glenn Sisco, and Kinnelon Councilmen Robert Collins, James Freda, and Evan Swalling, 26th District Assembly candidate Larry Casha held a press conference today to outline legislation he will be introducing called the “Truth in Campaigning Act”. This legislation would provide a means to discourage and eliminate grossly negative campaigns that spread false allegations and slander, so voters would have a clear understanding of a candidate’s position.
“Over the past few months, I have been subjected to slanderous and deceptive attacks by my opponent. The voters that I’ve spoken to across the district are sick of the negative campaigning and it’s time to end it”, said Larry Casha. “We’ve seen voter turnout drop statewide over the past few years because the average voter does not know who to believe. That is why I will introduce the “Truth in Campaigning Act” when I am elected to the State Assembly.”
