-- Lance has "a reputation for legislative class and bipartisanship" --
GREEN BROOK, NJ - Seventh District Congressional candidate Leonard Lance today received his second major newspaper endorsement - this time from the Courier News. Today's announcement comes on the heels of yesterday's Home News Tribune's endorsement of Leonard Lance's campaign for Congress.
In its endorsement editorial, the Courier News said Lance has, "a reputation for legislative class and bipartisanship," and someone who, "already displays a detailed grasp of several issues" and "opposes any new tax hikes and will advocate for earmark reforms."
The newspapers went on to say that Lance is, "a reliable fiscal conservative" who has "long complained about New Jersey's borrowing tendencies on both sides of the aisle."
The endorsement added Lance, "displays an independent streak," and, "His socially moderate views include a pro-choice stance on abortion and support for stem-cell research."
Lance's Courier News endorsement was critical of his opponent, Linda Stender, calling her record in Trenton "unremarkable." The Courier went on to add, "it is easy to envision her [Stender] serving as a quiet rubber-stamp vote for whatever party leadership wants in Congress."
