HOME-NEWS TRIBUNE ENDORSES LEONARD LANCE FOR CONGRESS
-- "Lance by far best choice in 7th District --
GREEN BROOK, NJ - Seventh District congressional candidate Leonard Lance today was endorsed by the Home-News Tribune.
In its endorsement editorial, the Home-News Tribune said, "there are few more honorable, intelligent and thoughtful inhabitants of New Jersey's Statehouse than Leonard Lance." The newspapers went on to say that Lance is, "a budget hawk with middle-of-the-road social beliefs."
The endorsement ended with, "New Jersey needs Lance's incisive views and modest tones, as does the nation if both are to escape these trying times."
The editorial endorsement was critical of Lance's opponent, Linda Stender. The editorial said, "Aside from agenda, Lance differs from Stender, his only serious rival, in one other important respect: the all-important talent for bipartisan compromise. While Lance has frequently shown he is able to work in earnest across party lines, Stender has shown herself to be wholly incapable of that skill as one of the more intractable partisan players in Trenton's political sphere.
The editorial also pointed out Stender's negative and false attacks against Leonard Lance, saying, "she has consistently rewritten the truth about Lance's positions and record."
