(TOMS RIVER, March 26) – In light of a government report released this week that projected Medicare and Social Security going into the red in 2019 and 2041 respectively, Third District Republican candidate for Congress – Freeholder Jack Kelly – offered the following:
"Making sure the federal government keeps its commitment to provide full and uninterrupted Medicare and Social Security benefits to our seniors will be a top priority of mine in Congress. Unfortunately, this 'do-nothing Congress' has avoided dealing with the serious problems facing our aging population and their spending addiction is leaving the next generation with debt that only New Jersey Democrats could be proud of."
Kelly continued, "It is important that seniors in the Third Congressional District know they have a friend in me. No senior citizen in this country should suffer because of the irresponsible behavior of those representing us in Washington. As a Freeholder I have been a tireless advocate for senior citizens and I will continue that advocacy in Washington by leading the fight to put the economic security of our seniors first."
