Myers Releases Remaining
Candidate Debate - Joint Forum Schedule
Job-creating businessman and decorated combat veteran eager to match his record with tax-raising, career Trenton politician at every opportunity
Mount Holly, October 1, 2008-Decorated combat veteran and job-creating businessman Chris Myers (NJ-3) today released a list of all the times and places he has agreed to debate - or appear jointly with - career Trenton politician John Adler over the campaign's final month, along with a list of all the debates and joint forums they've attended to date.
Myers has agreed to 16 debates and/or joint appearances with Adler.
This includes a News 12 debate agreed to today, pending Adler's participation.
"On June 4th, I sent a letter to Senator Adler conveying how eager I was to share the stage with him anytime, anywhere - from Long Beach Island to Cherry Hill and everywhere in between - to allow voters the best opportunity to compare his failed 16-year career in Trenton versus my successful careers in the military and in business," said Myers, adding that he even accepted an invitation to debate at Adler's own synagogue in Cherry Hill. "I've lived up to my word, and look forward to our future encounters."
Myers Campaign Manager Chris Russell criticized Adler for failing to accept Myers' challenge to debate the disastrous low-income housing mandates Adler and Governor Corzine forced down the throats of suburban towns and their property taxpayers earlier this year, and questioned why Adler is not accepting an invitation to debate Myers in front of a group of Cherry Hill Civic Associations next week.
"Given the opportunity, voters fed up with the partisan shenanigans in Washington and frightened by the economic crisis gripping our country will pick a job-creating businessman and decorated combat veteran like Chris Myers over a career Trenton politician like John Adler any day of the week and twice on Sunday," said Russell. "We look forward to the remaining debates on our schedule, and hope that Senator Adler's decision to pass on our debate at the Cherry Hill Library next week isn't the start of a Frank Lautenberg-like disappearing act."
