ASSEMBLY CELEBRATES SAINT PATRICK'S DAY

Annual Celebration Commemorates Contributions, Heritage of Irish-Americans

(TRENTON) - Assembly Democrats today issued a multimedia package commemorating the chamber's annual celebration of Saint Patrick's Day - a celebration of New Jersey's strong Irish-American heritage and its contributions to the betterment and advancement of the state.

This year's celebration honored the following groups and individuals:

  • The 2009 Grand Marshals of the state's 20-plus Saint Patrick's Day parades;
  • The 28th Infantry Battalion Irish Pipes and Drums Band from Donegal, Ireland;
  • Willie Lynch and the Willie Lynch Band;
  • Natalie and Julia DeAngelo, traditional Irish dancers; and
  • The Castlerea Brass and Reed Band from Roscommon, Ireland.

The multimedia package consists of a video highlighting portions of the ceremony, audio of same, and a Facebook photo album of the event.
