Assembly Democrats News Release

SCALERA, NJ HOMELAND SECURITY OFFICIALS COMPARE STRATEGIES WITH SWEDISH COUNTERPARTS

Share Best Practices & Discuss Security Difficulties at All Levels

(TRENTON) - Assemblyman Fred Scalera (D-Essex) today issued a multimedia package on his meeting with select members of the Swedish Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

Scalera, chairman of the Assembly Homeland Security and State Preparedness Committee, held a roundtable discussion with the Swedish SEMA delegation and their New Jersey homeland security counterparts to evaluate best practices and compare approaches taken at the state and country level.

The multimedia package consists of a video from the roundtable discussion, audio of same and comments below by Scalera.
The video can be accessed directly via our Web site - www.assemblydems.com - or by clicking here.

The audio file is available upon request.

Scalera said it "was good talking with them to see what they're doing there" and compared their situation as a small country in Europe to New Jersey working with neighboring states on interoperable homeland security programs.

"They're having the same situations from country to country so it was unique to see how that's working out," said Scalera.
