(HAMILTON) - Assemblyman Wayne P. DeAngelo (D-Mercer) today issued a multimedia package on his efforts to enhance the state's economic outlook by pursuing environmentally friendly energy and job opportunities in the Garden State.
The multimedia package consists of a video on the topic, audio of same and a copy of the script as delivered.
The video can be accessed directly via our Web site - www.assemblydems.com - or by clicking here.
The audio file is available upon request.
The script is appended below:
"Everyone knows that if we want to break our reliance on foreign oil, we need to rely on renewable fuel sources.
"The same can be said for New Jersey's economic outlook.
"If we want our state economy to emerge strong from the ongoing national recession without stalling we must invest in the alternative energy sector and work to grow environmentally friendly 'green-collar' jobs.
"'Green-collar' jobs are the key to powering our state's economic future.
"According to a recent study, New Jersey is uniquely suited to take advantage of 'green-collar' job growth.
"And as most economists will tell you, new jobs creation is the best kind of stimulus package government can provide.
"'Green-collar' jobs will have an immediate, positive impact for New Jersey families at every rung of the economic ladder.
"And after the work is done, the benefits remain as you can see here, on the roof my union hall.
"Not only did installing these solar panels create jobs for our members at 100 kWh a day, they have dramatically reduced our reliance on outside energy which saves the union - and, more importantly, our members - money.
"For more information on 'green-collar' jobs to find out more about alternative energy options or for help with any other questions you may have, please feel free to contact my district office by phone or e-mail."
