It’s still early in the week, and maybe there will be others who deserve these awards more. But, right now I am compelled to give these out on Tuesday, rather than wait until the usual day of Friday. But first, a Yiddish primer.

With the debates between the three candidates for governor and lt. governor a mere few weeks away, here are some thoughts on how to jazz the whole thing up.

There are exactly 100 days left to the end of the year. Oy, oh boy did this year go quickly. After today, we are no longer on a three digit countdown to 2010, and the next decade in the 21st century....

If Americans need healthcare---let's get it by doing what we have always done….take it from other countries. The theory goes that to get what we need we either “trade, aid, or invade.” When we needed land, we sent troops to take it from the Indians out west. And now, we need health care.

Another place and time, not too long ago, the candidate with a beard was deciding whether or not to debate the short, rotund candidate ----here he meets with his advisors….

I truly hope that New Jersey’s own Gang of Five (Garrett, Smith, Lobiondo, Frelinghuysen, and Lance ----listed from Far Right to sort of Moderate/Liberal on Social Issue/Left) never come to see me at one of New Jersey’s comedy clubs. Apparently, they all think it’s OK to heckle someone---anyone, even the President of the United States.

On Wednesday, September 16, 2009, the New Jersey Law Journal will present its fourth Celebration of Lawyers in the Arts to benefit the New Jersey Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (NJVLA).  The entire cast, dancers, director, producer, and orchestra are all lawyers. Proving once again just how talented lawyers can be.

Chris Christie has declared over and over that this election should be about “state issues”, however the Republican Governors Association (RGA) has been running ads all summer long. How nice of them Republican folks from other states to render their opinions on our “state issues”. In the interest of openness and fairness, and knowing your sources, I’d thought I’d examine exactly just who these Republican Governors are, and whether or not they have the moral and ethical standing to render an opinion on who the New Jersey governor should be. Let us begin at the top, with just some of the folks who support Christie from the RGA. As Jerry Seinfeld would say, “Who Are These People?”.

Congressman Joe Wilson may be number one in South Carolina’s 2nd district, but Wednesday he clearly stepped in Number Two. If you heckle the president during a speech and you’re not a Congressman, you’ll usually be removed by Capitol Building police. However, if you are a member of the House, your behavior will only help your opponent raise money.
