Jamestown ousts GOP Congressman in primary

The winner of the day in New Jersey is Jamestown Associates, the Princeton-based political consulting firm, for running the successful primary campaign of Andy Harris for Congress in Maryland.  Harris ousted seven-term incumbent Wayne Gilchrest in yesterday’s Republican primary.  Jamestown is also working for U.S. Senate candidate Anne Evans Estabrook and congressional candidates Leonard Lance and Christopher Myers.

The Club for Growth

Finally took down their public enemy number 1.

I know how Andy Harris won.

Jamestown Associates actually sent the mailpieces to the correct district - surprize, surprize.

Jamestown Associates sent voters in Passaic County mailpieces asking them to vote for Joe Kyrillos & Joe Azzolina.  Joe K. & Joe A. are both from Monmouth County!

If it hasn't been cashed yet - Annie, Leonardo & Chrissie might want to put a stop-payment on the retainer checks.

CfG

I think Club for Growth's raising and spending $500,000 on this race AGAINST Gilchrest is the reason he will be an EX-Congressman in November, much moreso than Jamestown working FOR Harris.

I wasn't even aware Jamestown was involved with the Harris campaign, but with clients like Estabrook and Lance and opponents like Gilchrest, their head must spin round and round working for RINO's one one hand and working against them on the other..

Sad Statement

I know Michael is a huge fan of the CfG, but it’s a sad statement about our politics when an organization with 432 donors this election cycle can hold such sway.  An organization only supported by 9 people in all of Maryland comes in with $500K and sways an election?  It's a safe Republican District, so primary voters there have just elected themselves somebody bought and paid for.  It is special interest politics at its worst.

Is It a safe district?

From what I read, registered D's outnumber R's...

Although apparently the district does favor Republicans oddly enough, maybe there are a lot of crossovers or conservative independents. I think I'm gonna keep an eye on the district for fun.

Harris..

is a great guy, I saw him speak in NYC recently. Hes got Garrett's politics but hes more outgoing than Scott. As for your question, Eric, there are a lot of good old time Southern Democrats have been voting Republican for a while now, though surprisingly Barack Obama seems to be having his way with them!

I'm starting to like these guys

Last year they got rid of liberal "Republican" Joe Schwarz in Michigan.  This year they took out equally liberal Wayne Gilchrest.  Larry and Tom deserve congratulations for taking out two pieces of left-wing pro-abortion liberal scum.  Both their candidates: Tim Walberg in Michigan and Andy Harris in Maryland are great Americans and all Republicans owe both Jamestown and the Club for Growth thanks in keeping the Republican Party the party of taxpayers...

(at least in these two cases.)
