Emerging as the Paul Stuart Aronsohn of 2007 is Richard Dennison, the Democratic candidate for State Senate in the seventh district. The 29-year-old undertaker/lawyer refuses to talk about state issues and appears to be mounting a campaign to oust George W. Bush, not Diane Allen. He has used two poorly attended press conferences to tie the three-term GOP Senator to the unpopular President, and today he tried hitting Allen by attacking Jim Saxton, a popular Burlington County Congressman.
But Dennison is still unable to name a single vote Allen has cast during her twelve years in the Legislature where he would have voted differently.
Asked about Dennison's campaign strategy, one Democratic legislative leader told PoliticsNJ.com: "That's not us. George is running everything south of Trenton. But is he a joke? Yes."

COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOUR ARE
Republican Senator Diane Allen Nowhere To Be Found on Saxton Vote
Is She Too Busy Planning Her Congressional Campaign?Burlington, NJ Democratic State Senate candidate Rich Dennison today pushed his opponent, Republican Senator Diane Allen, to break her silence on Congressman Jim Saxton's vote against the war spending bill and again called on her sign a pledge condemning the many failures of the Bush Administration. "Is the reason she's quiet about George W. Bush because she's really looking to run for Congress? Does Senator Allen refuse to speak out because she is jockeying for Congressman Saxton's endorsement should he retire?" questioned Dennison, of Florence.
"Last week I issued a simple challenge to Republican Senator Diane Allen -- a challenge to listen to the anger and resentment against her buddies in Washington and join me in condemning George W. Bush's failures. Today, I am calling on Senator Allen to explain why she remains silent and refuses to speak out on Congressman Saxton's opposition to the war spending bill and a time line for Iraq troop withdrawal," said Dennison.
"Perhaps she remains reluctant to criticize her buddies in Washington because she's using her current position as a stepping stone. And this certainly explains her lack of leadership when it comes to dealing with South Jersey's number one issue: Property taxes. Senator Allen has yet to present any original ideas to fix the outrageous property tax rates that are literally taxing hard working families out of their homes. How can the taxpayers rely on a Senator that's more concerned about furthering her political career than being a leader?
"Republican Senator Diane Allen has remained silent while more than 3,300 of America’s bravest soldiers have lost their lives in Iraq. Her friends in the Bush Administration have continuously ignored information on the ground and let this war turn into a fiasco that's costing taxpayers $1 billion every four days. That's money that could be used to remove the increased burden on New Jersey taxpayers to make up for the short falls in providing adequate health coverage and improve our public schools.
"As I've said before, an issue is an issue, whether at the federal, state, or local levels and Senator Allen has an obligation to respond. It's time for Senator Allen to tell all of us where she stands and pledge that she is not remaining silent for her own political gain.
"Does Senator Allen stand with George W. Bush on wasting more of our tax dollars in Baghdad or does she stand with the rest of us who are left picking up the tab and neglected in the process? It's time for Senator Allen to choose once and for all."Â
