NOT Ferguson for Congress Website Launched

NOT Mike Ferguson for Congress Website Launched

Mirrors Ferguson for Congress Campaign site with Congressman's True Record

Blue 7th PAC announced today the NOT Mike Ferguson for Congress website, an effort to cut through the campaign spin and show the true record of Congressman Mike Ferguson to the voters of New Jersey's 7th District.

The site, available at http://www.fergusonforcongress.net , mirrors the look of the official Ferguson for Congress site but includes different photographs and content. All photos are undoctored, and the content is linked to source material so readers can check to see that the information is accurate. The Ferguson for Congress website, available at http://www.fergusonforcongress.com, recently underwent a redesign, scrubbed of any pictures and all but three mentions of President George Bush. Earlier this year pictures of President Bush were on the front page, and Rep. Ferguson proudly brought the President to Westfield to speak to a hand-picked audience as part of the Social Security town meeting tour.

The NOT Ferguson for Congress website is intended to help the voters of New Jersey's 7th District learn who Rep. Ferguson is beholden to, and to clarify his record as a rubber stamp Republican in Washington, D.C.

An example of clarification is Rep. Ferguson's record on drilling in the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge. On the official campaign site, it says, "Congressman Ferguson has voted to block oil drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge …" But what it doesn't mention is that he voted twice in 2005 for drilling in ANWR, and his career record on the issue is three votes against drilling and four votes for drilling.

More information and research on Rep. Ferguson's record in Washington can be found at http://www.dumpmike.com , another project of Blue 7th PAC.

Blue 7th is a grassroots organization of progressive and Democratic voters who are dedicated to returning honest representation to the governments of New Jersey's 7th Congressional district. It is formed as a federal Political Action Committee to ensure sunlight on all its fundraising and expenditures, and meets on the second Tuesday of every month. More information on monthly meetings can be found at http://democrat.meetup.com/781/ .

Though this release cost nothing to distribute, it is paid for by Blue 7th PAC and not authorized by any candidate or other committee.
