Why is a prominent local real estate company allowing its offices to be used to support a politician who endorses the construction of low income housing which will destroy property vales in our suburbs? That’s the question GOP Strong is asking regarding Coldwell Banker in Wayne. An urgent call from Assemblyman Scott Rumana’s campaign has been sent out seeking volunteers to make Primary Election Calls for him from the Wayne Coldwell Banker office. “It seems odd that a company that sells real estate and has an interest in maintaining home values, would allow its resources to be used to support a candidate who has supported government mandates to build Low Income Housing in our neighborhoods,” said Michael Mecca, co-chair of the conservative group GOP Strong. “I don’t think Coldwell Banker wants to be associated with a politician who not only supported low income housing mandates, but tried to enable them by sponsoring legislation to have the state buy up foreclosed houses in suburban neighborhoods and sell them at reduced rates to low income buyers,” said Mecca. “If Rumana’s bill ever passed, neighborhood home values would plummet and property taxes would skyrocket,” said Mecca.
Ingle: Can you hear him now? Looks like the folks at the Delaware River and Bay Authority didn’t pay attention when Gov. Christie said enough of the open ended and unspecified pending commitments. So he vetoed their minutes, killing their plans. That was his second veto of the DRPA’s minutes...
“To their credit, public officials today are very sensitive to concerns among the citizenry toward their accepting gifts. They want to avoid even the appearance of being influenced.” -- ELEC Executive Director Jeffrey Brindle, who announced yesterday that benefit spending by lobbyists on legislatros has dropped from $163,375 in 1992 to $9,728 in 2009.
