“The momentum is clearly on the side of change in Passaic County,” added Mecca. “All the name calling, bullying and childish tactics by Mr. Rumana and his henchmen have done nothing, but to motivate people to join an organization that is energized and committed to winning elections against Democrats in November.”

PASSAIC COUNTY – The Passaic County Republican Organization Inc. has filed 277 county committee candidates as well as a complete ticket for county offices and candidates for the state Assembly in Districts 34 and 35, according to Michael Mecca, the chairman of the new organization.     The PCRO slate features Kristin Corrado  running for county clerk, freeholder candidates Bruno Varano,  Robert Cruz, and Debra Andriani and as well as 35th District Assembly candidates Lynn Anne Shortway of Hawthorne and George Sawey of North Haledon.  In Assembly District 34 the PCRO has filed candidates Michael Mecca III and Matthew Tyella both of Clifton.  In addition the PCRO, which will do battle with the faltering GOP organization of Assemblyman Scott Rumana – filed two candidates in the West Paterson council race  -- Matt DeBrino and William DeStefano -- while Rumana’s organization failed to file any.  “We want to make sure the Democrats have opposition – strong opposition – everywhere,” said Mecca. “We believe in fighting Democrats wherever we can, obviously Mr. Rumana does not." The  PCRO also has fielded council candidates in Totowa, West Milford and North Haledon.  Rumana, the embattled chairman of the regular Republican organization in Passaic County, which has not come close to winning a county election since Rumana became its leader, will have to contend with a significant county committee challenge that could lead to his ouster in June.   The PCRO’s 277 county committee candidates include 41 in Rumana’s home town of Wayne; 82 in Clifton; 73 in Paterson; 26 in West Milford; 15 in Passaic; 14 in Little Falls and 12 in Totowa. The organization also has five candidates in Haledon and two in West Paterson.    Mecca said the fact that the nascent organization was able to attract so many candidates is a testament to the hard work of those who want to see the Republican Party rebound in Passaic County.    “Obviously, many people are disenchanted with Scott Rumana’s stewardship of the Republican organization and with his divided loyalties between his job as chairman and his job as Assemblyman,” said Mecca.   “The momentum is clearly on the side of change in Passaic County,” added Mecca. “All the name calling, bullying and childish tactics by Mr. Rumana and his henchmen have done nothing, but to motivate people to join an organization that is energized and committed to winning elections against Democrats in November.”

any of them donate to republicans?

Matt DiBrino? that attorney? Didn't he donate $500.00 to Joe Coniglio?

Passaic County Republican Organization Inc?

First they fight against the Republican Organization and then they mimic the Organization and try to fool the voters.

Consistency is a sometimes virtue, but consistently dirty is not!

Save It Captain Sinking Ship

You guys probably couldn't find candidates in West Paterson (or is it Woodland Park), if you set out a blow-horn from Garret Mountain offering $100,000 to the first person to run. Well I guess thats because you trolls are all blowhards.

Your organization is dead, you even have record defections in Wayne. And how many people in Scott's own neighborhood signed Caruso-Rottino petitions.

Sewer fan of the sneaks

I can't wait to see the petitions!
All the people who bought Rottino Houses?

What little sneaks. They go on about GOP Strong and then turn coat and try to mimic the Passaic County Regular Republican Organization.

Captain's Taking On Water Now...

Ok so so far Captain you haven't explained not finding council candidates in a town where John McCain performed better than his national and state averages. Now you are attacking Rottino for being an entrepreneur unlike you whos been sucking off the government teat for years along with Scott who went hat in hand to Murphy to stay in politics?

And theres no lie. As far as I'm concerned, the new organization IS the GOP in Passaic County. The county is more than Miranda's at twelve on Friday's.

Think again sewer

Don't count those chickens just yet. Some eggs get scrambled.
