973-403-7836 REPUBLICANS HOPING FREEHOLDERS SHOW UP FOR WEDNESDAY’S DEBATE AND BRING SUBPOENAS HACKENSACK, NJ - Following the federal subpoenas served on the Bergen County Freeholder Board last week, will freeholders Bernadette McPherson, David Ganz, and Vernon Walton show up for the freeholder league of woman voters debate on Wednesday at 3:15PM Wednesday, October 29, Room A104, at Bergen Community College.
“I hope the freeholder don’t try to skip out on the debate and cheat the public out of the opportunity to question them,” said Republican freeholder candidate Paul Duggan.
Freeholder candidate Chris Calabrese said Democrat incumbents should bring with them copies of the subpoenas recently issued to the freeholder board by the U.S. Attorney
“The public deserves to know what the federal prosecutors are looking for and how it impact their taxes,” said Calabrese.
The third GOP Freeholder candidate Jeff Heller or Ramsey said he is hoping the debate will “give us all an opportunity to explore the questions of reckless spending and corruption that are plaguing county government. The freeholders have refused to address questions about their $133 million in spending and the excessive borrowing that is pushing county debt toward $800 million.”
