DeCROCE STATEMENT ON LAST-MINUTE PENSION-DEFERRAL LEGISLATIONAssembly Republican Leader Alex DeCroce issued the following statement in response to Gov. Jon S. Corzine’s pension-deferral measure being added to Monday’s agenda before the legislation was even prepared:            “Democrats in Trenton must know that allowing towns to defer their pension obligations will wind up hurting property taxpayers in the long run, or they would not have waited until late Friday afternoon to add it to Monday’s Budget Committee agenda without having a copy available to the public.            “This is yet another sign that Gov. Corzine and the Democrat-controlled Legislature do not want to give residents a chance to expose their economic-response plans as nothing but gimmicks and fraud.            “It would be common courtesy to show the public such serious legislation in a timely manner before it is voted on."
