TRENTON - Governor Jon S. Corzine signed the following bills into law today:
S-984/A-3254 (Bark/Stanley, Wisniewski, Scalera) – Ensures fire drills are conducted in schools while open for summer instructional programs.
S-2537/A-4022 (Karcher, Palaia/Greenwald, Panter, Fisher) – Establishes New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium.
S-2937/A-4551 (Adler/Lampitt) – Cancels, reappropriates and appropriates certain moneys in the Clean Waters Fund.
A-253/S-208 (Cruz-Perez, Mayer, Conners/Allen, Bucco) – Requires portion of state rental assistance grants be reserved for graduates of state veterans’ transitional housing program.
ACS for S-597/ACS for A-2969 w/GR (Kyrillos, Scutari/Moriarty, Bramnick, Mayer, Cruz-Perez) – Regulates donation clothing bins.
A-909/S-1956 (Gusciora, Watson Coleman, Van Drew/Vitale, Weinberg) – Prohibits product testing with traditional animal test methods if federally recommended alternative test method exists, with certain exceptions; provides for injunctive relief for violations.
A-1016/S-2393 w/GR (Prieto, Cohen, Stack, Moriarty/Coniglio) – Establishes the State Board of Examiners of Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors.
A-1044/S-472 w/GR (Van Drew, Johnson, Egan, Greenstein, Albano/Sweeney, Doria) – Requires prenotification of certain plant closings, transfer and mass layoffs.
A-2070/S-2746 (Bodine, Chivukula, Johnson/Asselta, Scutari) – Requires New Jersey Transit Corporation to report on New Jersey Travel Independence Program and study feasibility of its expansion statewide.
A-3253/S-2956 (Conners, Sires, Diegnan, Chatzidakis/Adler, Turner) – Provides a military service exemption to the requirement of continuous enrollment under the NJ STARS and NJ STARS II programs.
A-3513/S-2377 (Schaer, Gordon, Watson Coleman, Fisher/Weinberg) – Mandates alternate testing dates because of days of religious observance for certain applicants seeking licensure.
A-3517/S-2489 (Schaer, Watson Coleman, Fisher/Weinberg, Sarlo) – Provides for religious accommodation regarding admission procedures at licensed health care facilities.
A-4295/SCS for S-2702/2727/3007 w/GR (Roberts, Quigley/Buono, Karcher, Vitale, Weinberg) – “Charity Care Fraud Prevention and Detection Act.”
AJR-101/SJR-73 (Cryan, Stender, Munoz, Vas/Karcher, T. Kean) – Designates September of each year as “Volunteer Blood Donor Awareness Month” in New Jersey.
AJR-102/SJR-69 (Bramnick, Cruz-Perez, Munoz, Conners, Karrow, Van Drew/Madden, Vitale) – Designates November of each year as “Veterans’ Month” in New Jersey.
AJR-135/SJR-68 (Vainieri Huttle, Giblin, Manzo, Van Drew/Weinberg, Karcher) – Urges Congress to enact “Employee Free Choice Act.”
