Is the GOP back?

For much of the year, it appeared that New Jersey was a two-party state -- the problem for the Republicans is that they weren't one of the two parties.  But suddenly, just after Labor Day, it looks like the NJ GOP hibernation may have ended.  Between reports that Governor Jon "Hold Me Accountble" Corzine gave a $15,000 cash gift to the brother-in-law of his former girlfriend, CWA President Carla Katz, and the arrests of eleven public officials (all but one were Democrats) that included two Democratic Assemblymen, the Republicans had a good week.  And now, Republican State Chairman Tom Wilson, Senate Minority Leader Leonard Lance and Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce, have been on fire .

They're on fire?

Really? Do they have a message, other than that the Democrats are bad, give us the emails and that our bogus property tax reform will be 10% higher than the Democrats?

where there is smoke

All things considered, they should be blazing a trail of reform and fiscal restraint straight through the election, sort of a prescribed burning of the Democrat forest full choked with corrupt, unaccountable and irresponsible undergrowth. Then again, if they are on fire, it might just be because their house in burning and they are stuck inside.

Note to Seward:  Most hardworking families will take the extra 10%  in property tax relief republicans have proposed.  It is nothing to sneer at considering the annual rate of property tax increases as of late.

results?

Wilson, Lance, and DeCroce are on fire?

How so?

Corzine will slow down the Turnpike rhetoric until after the election, and the D's will increase their lead in the Legislature.

It is nothing to sneer at considering the annual rate of property tax increases as of late. Of course they will take it. They will put it in own pocket and it will be taxed out of the other pocket.

Potential

As of now, there is only the potential for GOP gains based on dumb-sh**t the Dems are doing (assett monetization) plus their corruption stuff (Katz, Rocco etc.) We will see if they can make some headway with this or overplay their hands in the coming month I suppose

It's a time like this...

We need GOP State Communications Director and indicted GOP Operative Todd Riffle to make some comment for Tom Wilson on Ethics and Ethics Reform!

Come on GOP, give us a good laugh.

Are You Serious???

Wilson, Lance, and DeCroce are the leaders who will bring the Republicans to the promised land? You have got to be kidding. DeCroce and Lance came to South Jersey last week to "stand by" their guy, Asselta and rant and rave about monetization. They said nothing of substance and no one paid attention! It was embarrassing to see Asselta stand near his " Asselta Bus" with no one else there. Yes, DeCroce and Lance really were " pumping up" the Republicans that day!

Let's Fan the Fires of Corruption!

The cynicism of New Jerey citizens was on full display this past Sunday when Jet "fans" applauded the injury of their starting quarterback Chad Pennington. I am no more impressed with DAG Christie's "Sting Eleven" than I am with his absurd indicment of Newark Mayor Sharp James for $58,000.

Now I am no fan of Mr. James but to announce to the world, with the full force of the US Government, the indictment of a man who was supposed to be the epicenter of corruption in Essex County for an amount a little less than a luxury SUV just makes me laugh. Actually it makes me want to donate to his defense fund. Promoting "Little Corruption" seems to be the one of the main things Mr. Christie, as a loyal Bushie, is best at.

How about this for corruption; 8.8 billion missing from the Civilain Provisional Authority of Iraq; countless billions lost in Iraqi no bid contracts to Halliburton, et. al. If you want to find the forest and not the trees look to County Executuve Fererraro and the Democratic lead uprising against pay-to-play.

Come on New Jersey. We can do better, can't we?

Same old story.

This sort of thing happens everytime. Democrats look bad in the home stretch, GOP skrews up a great chance, Tax rebate checks happen to show up in mail boxes a week or two before the election and the Dems are safe...safe to bend Jersey over and go McGreevy on it for another two years.
