In advance of an expected victory during the BCRO Chairman's runoff on Tuesday in the wake of a 58% no-confidence vote in the embattled incumbent lobbyist Rob Ortiz, challenger and longtime activist and donor Bob Yudin mailed the following letter to all members of the Bergen Republican County Committee today. Dear Valued Bergen Republican,
After our victory next Tuesday is finalized the following are my immediate agenda items.
Implementation of a 7 member executive management team, I would hope that we can rely upon the district Chairmen (36, 37, 38, 39 & 40), the Young Republican Chairman and the Teen Republican Chairman to make up this team. This team will be responsible for:
As part of a management by objective policy, this team will meet monthly either in person or via web-conference to discuss the prior month progress and to be tasked with the next set of objectives. Evaluation of this management team will be predicated on performance of their set tasks.
Immediately review and commence full coordination for the county freeholder and county clerk race. This will be the most important race for our party, we simply cannot and will not lose the county clerk seat and we must capitalize on the opportunities to win seats to place Republican freeholders in county government!
Recruit a 10 member finance team with a task of immediately raising funds in June. Yes June! We will not wait months to begin. I would like to take this opportunity to announce the first BCRO fundraiser will be held within 8 weeks of my win.
Yes, we can do this in our first two weeks in office. In order to spread our Republican message we need to raise money. Print, mail, media and general advertisement costs money. We are not shy to that fact and realize our Bergen audience is nearly one million people!
I will be asking that half of the fundraising team be dedicated to electronic and mail type fundraising. Utilizing e-fundraising is the future for our party and we must embrace it now. Combining the internet, e-mail, blast texting, PayPal and other means must be used.
The other half of the fundraising team will be focused on small ticket and large ticket events. I am already planning things like the Memorial Day BBQ, a Halloween costume party, a Thanksgiving Turkey roast, a holiday cocktail event and a post New Year annual party celebration, not to mention February Lincoln Day!
We need to be tasked to out-raise the Democrats, yes out-raise the machine. Our party is counting on us to make this happen!
Upon our victory, I will immediately put in place a legal team that will act twofold:
First to provide continual advice to myself and the management team to ensure we meet all our legal and ethical obligations. Second to build a legal squad that can be deployed at Election Day to the polls. I feel that has been a weak spot of our organization and it needs to be addressed.
I would also seek to put in place a finance advisor, this is not for fundraising but to guide us on how to invest some of the money we raise to provide a long term annuity in the event the well ever runs dry.
In closing let me say that I am not perfect, I may not be the answer to all our problems but I will work my hardest day and night to foster a Republican resurgence in Bergen County. I will put any personal agendas aside and focus on building our party from the ground up.
Thank you and may God bless you,
Bob Yudin
