Trenton, NJ - New Jersey conservative Republican leader Dr. "Maverick Murray" Sabrin, the Garden State's strongest advocate of limited government and individual freedom and the front-runner for United States Senate, announced the expected endorsement by Steve Lonegan after the three-way debate between Maverick Murray, Joe Pennacchio, and Dick Zimmer on Friday afternoon.
Dr. Murray Sabrin said, "My campaign to 'Legalize Freedom' and become the next United States Senator from New Jersey continues to gain steam as we move closer to victory on June 3rd. We were very excited about Steve Lonegan and Americans for Prosperity hosting the debate today between myself and my two liberal candidates." Sabrin continued, "We are very confident when Steve Lonegan and his conservative guests hear the clear contrast between The Sabrin Solution, Joe Pennacchio's fascist ideas and Dick Zimmer's liberal record, Steve will be endorsing my campaign for United States Senate."
Steve Lonegan is the Executive Director of Americans for Prosperity - New Jersey and the former Mayor of Bogota. As Mayor, Steve brought a "Taxpayers First" philosophy to his government service by eliminating wasteful spending, privatizing some functions while creating a more cost-efficient, user-friendly government. Steve not only got re-elected two times by double digit margins, he was able to keep the council in Republican control for eleven straight elections. Since joining Americans for Prosperity, Steve continued his fighting for the taxpayers by defeating two state ballot questions in November 2007 which would have forced an increase in sales tax and would have increased debt by nearly $500 million. Steve recently published a book "Putting Taxpayers First" where he outlines a blueprint for Republican victories in New Jersey.
