Chairman Oglesby not surprised about Altamuro New Job

Woodbury, NJ- Gloucester County Chairman Loran Oglesby responding to a Gloucester County Times article on Sunday, February 1st that stated that former Washington Township Councilman, Steve Altamuro, was named solicitor for the Margaret E. Heggen Free Public Library’s Board of Trustees.  Steve Altamuro was a Republican while on Council, but switched late last year to support Matt Lyons for Mayor.

“I am not shocked that Altamuro received this contract,” said Oglesby.  “Steve Altamuro is an opportunist at best.  He was a Republican and when the political winds blew Altamuro’s way, he abandoned the Washington Twp Republican Party who were loyal to him throughout his political career.”

“ Steve Altamuro switched to Democrat last year knowing that if Matt Lyons becomes Mayor, then he will get a job from his good friend, “ said Oglesby. “ No other person was able to bid for this contract. No wonder  the Democrats get away with this in New Jersey, these deals of party flipping and then receiving political favors, needs to end.”

“I am surprised that Altamuro, who usually does not stay quiet in the press, was unavailable for comment on Friday,” concluded Oglesby.
