When it comes to BPU President Jeanne Fox’s reappointment, Gannett’s Bob Ingle and Gregory Volpe have been working overtime.
Based on recent coverage, it appears the Gannett chain is the only NJ newspaper paying close attention to the current storyline about Fox’s day-in-court-defense to a whistle blower complaint and the pending Senate review of her reappointment as Board President.
The tally: Gannett papers have run 29 stories on the subject this past month.
For now, it appears the trial will preempt a Senate confirmation showdown, according to Friday’s Gannett story. Curiously the Star Ledger - - which dedicated a few weeks of prime Sunday front page real estate to BPU's $80 million private bank account and other goings-on inside Two Gateway Center - - has been rather quiet on the subject.New Jersey has eighteen living former Congressmen -- that number should go to twenty next year with the retirements of Jim Saxton and Michael ... >

Wake up Ledger - It's Newark
BPU is in Newark's town where this hack has: (1) bloated up her payroll with hacks, including political operatives and a relative of Golan Cipel; (2) set up an unlawful bank account; (3) allowed an important grant program to be grossly mismanaged; and (4) bloated up her management with hacks to the extent she "needed" another 11,000 square feet of $28 per square feet of office space (Ledger, do you pay that much?) All the while the hacks were being hired, almost no former water utility employees or people who understood the utility industry (rate analysts, etc) were hired who would actually focus on utility rates being held in check. She put a solar subsidy program in place that made blue collar rate payers subsidize solar panels for rich people which will hardly save the planet, but which will result in other people's rates going up as the rich folk with solar pay less for power. Jeanne's administration is a mess... AND IT HAS A SERIOUS MISSION THAT IMPACTS EVERY PERSON EVERY TIME THEY FLIP THEIR LIGHT SWITCH - INLCUSDING THE REPORTERS AT THE LEDGER. WHERE YA BEEN LEDGER?
Ledger Preoccupied
The Ledger has been too busy focusing on McGreevey's latest embarassment to the State of NJ to focus on issues that really matter to the voters such as this. I am generally not a fan of Gannetts' dog with a bone style of reporting, but in this case, it's warranted.
I don't know whether to detect sarcasim in this article
as if to say, "the SL or any other paper has determined it not to be a "news worthy" situation" or, do I look for the sincerity by Debbie Holtz as if to say "look how the SL has gotten way off base and out of touch with news worthy stories since I left". In any event, regardless who is reporting what I follow Bob Ingle who appears to be one of the only reporters who knows what he's reporting on and stays consistent with his reporting good, bad, or indifferent.Quite frankly the only reason I am commenting here is due the emotional state of rage I feel every time I hear or see the word or in this case, name FOX! I am watching and waiting for her confirmation hearings -- it will speak volumes of Corzine and the Democrat majority's judgement of character should she be confirmed after the whistleblower cleans our accounts out with a multi-million dollar settlement over and above what the defensless attorney will be paid!!!
