(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) - On the last day before the gubernatorial election, Doug Forrester continued his Take Back New Jersey tour, joined by New York Governor George Pataki. Speaking with people in Iselin, Woodbridge, Ridgewood, New Brunswick, Westfield, Toms River, and Hamilton, Forrester reminded voters why he is running for governor.
"I have spoken about property tax relief, fighting corruption, improving education, making health care more affordable, and a whole host of issues that concern every New Jerseyan," said Forrester. "But the fundamental issue underlying all of the others is change. I want to lead the fight to Take Back New Jersey from the deal-making that has replaced policy-making, and from the status quo of politicians who believe in self-service instead of public service."
"Doug will make the public interest the primary interest in New Jersey," said Governor George Pataki. "If you want to cut property taxes by 30 percent, Doug Forrester should be your next governor. If you want change in New Jersey, Doug Forrester should be your next governor."
Corzine claims that he is independent of the party bosses, but 48-hour ELEC reports released last week reveal that he has given the maximum amount of money possible to every Democrat party boss in the state.
In just the past three weeks, Corzine gave an additional $200,000 to bosses around the state. It is not clear why poor Boss Bob Menendez in Hudson County had to wait so long for his piece of the Corzine money pie, but Corzine maxed out to him, too, on October 27.
Incredibly, although Corzine has been bragging that he stood up to Boss Joe Ferriero, when it came time to make a contribution, Corzine ponied up the maximum to Ferriero's Bergen County organization.
Corzine also maxed out to Boss George Norcross through his Camden County organization, as well as Boss John Lynch of Middlesex, Boss Ray Lesniak of Union, Boss Steve Sweeney of Gloucester, and Boss Sharpe James of Essex.

“She has already chosen the interests of the insurance industry over the health care needs of working people, she took millions from Wall Street as the economy went into a meltdown, and now she wants to purchase a job in Congress at a time when so many have lost their jobs because of the actions of big bankers and others." -- Monmouth County Democrats spokesman Mike Mangan, on Republican Diane Gooch, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone.
