The only thing more predictable than Rudy losing in the primary was the NJ GOP establishment, minus a few unconventional thinkers, lining-up behind him and truly believing he could win.  Nothing against Rudy, but come on people, the housing bubble was less obvious than this one.

Lou Gherig is a legend and icon. There are many people who suffer from Gherig's disease.

Lou Gehrig also knew that you have to play every game if you want to win.  You don't just show up for the playoffs and expect to get in the lineup.  So, bad taste or not, the analogy simply doesn't apply to Bush-League Rudy.

The Caption Fooled Me

   I saw the caption and thought Rob Tornoe was leaving this website - which would have been not quite as good as Rudy dropping out of the race.
