Ex-Perot spokesman will run for Assembly

In the first district, Republicans will run Norris Clark and Michael Donohue for State Assembly.  Clark is a former national spokesman for Ross Perot's presidential campaign and the cousin of former Casino Reinvestment Development Authority Executive Director Curtis Bashaw. Clark and his wife live in Cape May County, where he is a prominent businessman and civic leader.  Donohue, an attorney, is the Dennis Township Republican Municipal Chairman and the husband of former Press of Atlantic City reporter Jeanie Dewey Donohue.  They will challenge freshman Democratic Assemblyman Nelson Albano and a yet-to-be-announced Assembly candidate who will seek JeffersonVan Drew's seat.  Van Drew is challenging Republican State Senator Nicholas Asselta.

REPUBLICANS ARE GOING DOWN

Here we go again. Why can't we get good republican candidates. I'm a republican that can't bring himself to vote for his own party because over the past few years we have had horrible candidates. I'll just vote for Van Drew and see what happens with the Assembly. Very discouraging for republicans down here.

running mates

Albano's running mate is Vineland businessman Matthew Milam according to the Daily Journal article. I'm sure Van Drew can win, but carrying both running mates will be more difficult...Van Drew usually outpaces the ticket by a few thousand.
