Princeton, NJ - Businesswoman Anne Estabrook today announced the creation of an exploratory committee made up of prominent Republicans and community leaders.
Among the members of the exploratory committee are Congressman Mike Ferguson, former Port Authority chairman and Republican National Committee finance chair Lewis M. Eisenberg, State Senator and former NJGOP chair Joe Kyrillos, State Senator Diane Allen, State Assemblywoman Amy Handlin, Republican activist and investment banker Candy Straight, Roxbury Township Clerk Bettylou DeCroce, Monmouth County chairman Adam Puharic, Union County chairman Phil Morin, Gloucester County chairman Loran Oglesby, Camden County chairman Rick DeMichele and over a dozen prominent business and community leaders. (see attached list)
Former Congressman Dick Zimmer and Mark Sheridan will serve as counsel to the committee and Ron Gravino will be treasurer. Turnkey Productions will serve as fundraisers for the exploratory committee.
“I am a businesswoman. I know how hard it can be to do business, create good jobs and raise a family in New Jersey, said Estabrook. “Taxes are too high, government regulations are too burdensome. And all Washington seems to care about is partisan politics.”
“As I have done throughout my career, I want to work to find solutions and get things done so we can make our state more affordable, safer and healthier,” said Estabrook. “I would bring a fresh perspective and a new approach to the Senate.”
“I appreciate very much that these New Jersey leaders have agreed to support me as we consider a campaign for Senate,” added Estabrook.
Estabrook is the CEO and Principal of Elberon Development Company, a New Jersey real estate company. A prominent leader in the state’s business community, Estabrook has served on corporate boards and as the first-ever woman Chairman of the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce.
Estabrook served for 15 years on the Lay Board of Trustees for the Delbarton School in Morristown and for 10 years on the Board of Trustees at Cornell University, where she received her undergraduate and MBA degrees.
Estabrook has also been an active member of her church and is a trustee on the board of Catholic Charities in the Newark Archdiocese. Three years ago, Estabrook was awarded the Humanitarian of the Year Award from Catholic Community Services for her commitment to charitable causes.
Others are expected to be added to the exploratory committee in the coming weeks and months.
