Elect local Republicans, Cut your property tax increase in half
Woodbury, NJ: The Gloucester County Republican Party reviewed tax rates supplied by the Gloucester County Board of Taxation and discovered a disturbing statistic. Towns controlled by the Democrat Party had an average increase in the municipal tax rate more than double the average increase of towns controlled by the Republican Party. These are comparing the 2007 rate v/s the 2006 rate.
“This is one more reason to support your local Republican candidate for office”, stated Republican Chairman Loran Oglesby. “Our party stands for smaller government and lower taxes. The Democrat Party stands for bigger government and higher taxes”, Oglesby continued.
“The highest percentage increase in the county is in Westville, with an increase of over ten percent”, stated GOP Executive Director Jeff Morris. “Westville recently switched control to the Democrats, and their residents are now suffering a large tax increase. We saw the same thing in Franklin Twp. when they switched control to the Democrats. The Franklin Republican Council members historically kept tight control on municipal spending, but now the residents are faced with significant tax increases under the Democrat administration”, continued Morris. “This year’s increase in Franklin is seven percent, which is well above the rate of inflation, and more than double the three percent average increase by Republican controlled towns in Gloucester County.”
Republican Freeholder candidates Dr. Andrew Savicky and Paul Marino chimed in regarding the county budget. “With an increase of 144 employees, the county budget jumped an astonishing 24 million dollars over last year” stated Savicky “An increase in the budget of over 15 percent in one year shows spending by the all Democrat Board of Freeholders is out of control” stated Marino. “An additional 10 million dollars in taxes on the backs of our residents would not happen under our administration”, stated Savicky and Marino.
