Quinnipiac: Christie leads by 2 in close race with Corzine

A new Quinnipiac University poll has Republican Christopher Christie leading Gov. Jon Corzine by two percentage points, 42%-40%, with 12% for independent Christopher Daggett.  Six percent remain undecided in a gubernatorial race that is just narrowly within the margin of error.

Four days ago, Corzine led 43%-38%, was 13% for Daggett.

Nearly four out of ten (38%) of Daggett supporters say they might change their mind: 39% list Corzine as their second choice, and 29% would go for Christie.

"Daggett is the key to an incredibly close New Jersey election," said Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

Christie leads 47%-32% among independents, with 17% for Daggett.

The Quinnipiac poll was in the field October 27-November 1 and has a margin of error of +/- 2.5%.

7 point swing in 4 days!!!

Bring Obama in one more time!!!

Yankees win tonight and the Christie Ticket wins tommorrow night!!!!

You're right, PC517

First it was the choice of Weinberg for LG and now the constant campaigning by Marxists. Nothing brings the people around to Christie more than seeing first hand what the alternative would bring.

Corzine & Dem Machine Will Be Shocked

He is campiagning only with party dems and hacks exclusively now, ignoring homeowners and the middle class across the state the last few weeks. The people he / NJ takes most of the money from!

It is ironic the same people who are going to throw him out tommorrow are the ones he ignored for 4 years and is still ignoring now?
There are not enough dem voters/ public dole/ gov. workers to win this election.
Places like Newark and elizabeth have 17% unemployment instead worying about votes, how about getting these people jobs???

The Dems are convinced that their mighty machine can do anything, but they forgot the middle class still decides elections in this State and are going to send them a message tommorrow they won't forget !!

NJ is a dem state because in most elections unaffliateds lean dem, but not all the time, and especially when we are in a finacial disaster.

Corzine did well in surburban areas last time against Forrester, this time he will be crushed in huge numbers like the GOP gets in Camden.

The ticket will have coat tails tommorrow too!!

Woo hoooooooooooooooooooooo...

Everyone grab a hammer and drive the stake further into Corzine's political head! Call your friends & family and make sure they vote. As they say in Mortal Kombat, FINISH HIM!

Cousin Pookie

I think he's staying on the couch.

Corzine Hangover

Tough day for NJ dems after a day of being romanced by The 'Bama they wakeup next to Jon Corzine. Try as he has not even the 'Bama can make chicken salad out of ....Jon COrzine.

Red for a Day (its a start), NJ will make us proud tomorrow.

A significant surge toward Christie.

The previous Quinnipiac Poll had Corzine ahead by 5% the latest shows a complete about face with Christie up 2%. That is a major shift in the electorate in a short space of time. There appears to be movement toward Christie. The Daggett candidacy is fading fast. Good news for New Jersey and tax payers across the state. Lets stand up to the political bosses and the union thugs by giving Christie a huge win.

It would Have Been Helpfull if They Had Polled Obama's Effect.

They didn't ask anyone what their opinion was of the president coming to campaign and if it made them more or less likely to support Corzine.

It' interesting to see that Daggett now takes more votes away from Corzine then he does from Christie. I guess Corzine's strategy of elevating Daggett may have had an unintended consequence.

Newark and Camden?

Do the math, if they are still worried about turnoutin those areas they are in BIG TROUBLE!!

If anything the poll gives Corzine too much support.

Christie 48% Corzine 44%

Dagget and the rest 8%
