A new Rasmussen Reports poll has Republican challenger Christopher Christie with a three point lead, 47%-44%, over Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine, with independent Christopher Daggett at 6%.
But 21% of likely voters say they would consider voting for Daggett, and one-third (33%) are either undecided or say they could change their mind before they vote in the November gubernatorial election.
Among these voters, Dagget is the first choice for 27%, Corzine for 24% and Christie for 22%. But, most who prefer Dagget say they could change their mind before actually casting a vote.
Corzine and Christie both have upside-down favorable ratings. Corzine is at 45%-52%, and Christie is at 46%-50%. Corzine is at 37% very unfavorable, while Christie is at 23%. Daggett's favorables are now at 44%-27%, but just 15% of likely voters have strong feelings about him, one way or the other.
The poll marks an improvement for Corzine, who was seven points behind just two weeks ago. His 44% is the highest percentage he's received in a Rasmussen poll this year.
"It remains difficult to see how the Governor could reach the 50% level of support, but with a three- way race that may not be necessary," Rasmussen wrote. "At the moment, Christie's voters are a bit more certain to actually show up and vote. However, in New Jersey, Democrats have traditionally displayed a stronger ground game to get-out-the-vote."
Of the 21% of voters say they'd consider pulling the lever for a third party option, Chris Dagget, 13% pick Dagget is their first choice, 5% are currently supporting Christie, and 3% are planning to vote for Corzine.
Among voters who are certain of how they will vote and say they won't change their mind, Christie, the former U.S. Attorney, does a bit better. The Republicans hopeful holds a five-point edge among those "certain" voters.
Likely voters still trust Christie more than Corzine on taxes, government spending and cracking down on corruption.

Christie going down
This is like watching an oversized circus tent collapse. It's what happens when a GOP candidate embtaces the liberal philosophy of Rudy Giuliani and distances himself from Sarah Palin.
Christie needs to returm to his conservative roots. Steve Lonegan has to get more involved with the campaign.
Christie should fire Mike DuHaime and hire Rick Shaftan.

Corzine worse than Florio
everyone knows it.
Corzine is a smear artist..
I have never seen such a dirty campaign has that being waged by Jon Corzine. This man is despicable.Anyone who believes that Christie would prohibit women from having a mammogram must be a moron. If New Jersey voters are gulable enough to believe this garbage then by all means you deserve the incompetence of Jon Corzine. Are New Jersey voters that stupid? I guess we shall see.
The Fat Man is Toast
The more Christie opens his mouth and says absolutely nothing the more his own Republican base will realize he is substantively no different from Corzine.
Let's be clear, folks: Christie is no conservative. He has no core conservative principles. He's a bloated, RINO political hack - a creature of the bloated, corrupt RINO GOP establishment in this state that long ago sold its political soul for a piece of the patronage action in Trenton.
Christie has no plan, no agenda, no detailed proposal for the economic recovery of the Garden State. All he offers are platitudes and glittering generalities.
Whatever details he deigns to share are either impossible, irrelevant or fraught with mathematical impossibilities (for example, slashing income tax rates while preserving the property tax rebate - which is drawn from income tax revenue).
Unless drastic measures are taken (massive tax cuts, massive cuts in government spending, abolition of Abbott districts, abolition of COAH, etc.) New Jersey WILL collapse. Anyone who denies this denies reality.
Neither Corzine and the Democrats nor Christie and the establishment GOP embraces any of the drastic measures I outlined above, much less all of them. (Hell, the NJ GOP refuses to adopt the RNC platform).
New Jersey is headed for a meltdown and the difference between electing Christie and electing Corzine is the difference between driving off a cliff at 30 miles per hour and 100 miles per hour.
Republican voters are beginning to understand that Christie will make no difference in Trenton except to preside over the economic collapse of a state that was once the envy of the Union.
Christie has not given voters - particularly those in the Republican base - any reason to vote for him other than the fact he is not Jon Corzine.
Thing is, the old RINO strategy of "Vote for me or you'll get stuck with a Democrat" no longer resonates. After nine months of President Man-Child in the Oval Office, how much friggin' worse can it get?
The only silver lining to this storm cloud is the fact that Obama and the Democrats are responsible for this catastrophe.
For this reason, most conservative Republicans (the core of the party in any state whether you wish to admit it or not) will not vote for Chris Christie in November. They know this state is doomed and they know Christie will do nothing to avert that disaster.
They would sooner have the Titanic sink under the command of a liberal Democrat than a liberal Republican because they know the day of reckoning for the establishment GOP in New Jersey (and, perhaps, nationwide) is approaching quickly.
Once Christie is out of the way, Kyrillos, Kean and the rest of the establishment RINOs will be targeted for political destruction.
The brave new world of New Jersey politics will dawn on November 4.

Wow
You are one angry person.
Get turned for a job did we???
Manly
Thanks for coming out of your tent at Valley Forge. Was your paint ball war game exciting? What a joke of a human being
Gorednj
No substantive response, I see. Joke's on you, pal.
The Great March on D.C.
This should you some pause, Gorednj:

If it doesn't, you're more obtuse than I ever surmised. So much the better. There is no victory more savory than that over an adversary who was certain he'd be victorious.
For the record, my name is Gene Hoyas. I'm the Continental officer in the front and center bearing the faded Betsy Ross flag.
Care to show us YOUR face, sir? Or have we already seen it in the "most wanted" mug shots on display at the local post office?
Here are some more reasons
to back up your support of King Jon

WOW
"Or have we already seen it in the "most wanted" mug shots on display at the local post office?"
So because you dress up like Benedict Arnold and spew rhetoric about taking back YOUR Republic---we should be impressed?
Try running for office and putting yourself out there to make a difference.
Your constant reference to those who question you as being criminals, etc shows your prejudice and narrow thought process.
Betsy Ross?
Is that who you dress up as? Seems you have the problem unless you are just trolling for free drinks at some ladies' night.
Same old Gorednj
So because you dress up like Benedict Arnold and spew rhetoric about taking back YOUR Republic---we should be impressed?
In other words, you still have no substantive response to my original comment.
As for Benedict Arnold, his uniform reflected a regimental color scheme of blue with buff trim, whereas my uniform is patterned on that of the New Jersey regiments - blue with red trim.
After his treason - one I'm sure you would have delighted in, seeing as how you are clearly no lover of liberty or this republic - his uniform became that of the British military.
Not much of a student of history, are you GNJ? Makes sense. Most liberals aren't.
Have YOU run for political office, GNJ? By the way, who ARE you? Do you have a real name? May we see your photograph? As I recall, that was your hang-up about me when I first began commenting here.
Not Betsy Ross, silly
Is that who you dress up as? Seems you have the problem unless you are just trolling for free drinks at some ladies' night.
Unless OC stands for Obstinately Contumacious you would have observed that Betsy Ross referred to the flag I carried. But I suspect you already knew that.
You despise that flag even more than you despise the one with 50 stars.
Come On Folks!
Quit fighting. There is a simple question to ask, "are you better off today then you were four years ago?" If the answer is NO, which has to be the truth, then how can you vote for Corzine?
Dagget cannot win, and even if he did he would accomplish nothing because he has an Assembly and Senate he cannot work with.
Dagget was a public employee do you really expect him to do anything but raise our taxes? Come on folks.
Christie is our only shot.
LMAO
LMAO @ a manly guy who needs to dress up like Betsy Ross to feel important - or whomever you claim to dress up as. You have no idea what you are talking about regarding the flag or my views on it. But it figures when you get called out as a crossdresser you attack someone on a subject you are clueless about. LMAO.
