Ex-reality TV star, State Senator, praise Corzine, Christie, respectively

Former TV reality star Randal Pinkett says that GOP gubernatorial candidate Christopher Christie is tied to the economic policies of former President George W. Bush.

"As tonight's debate showed, the stakes of this election could not be higher for New Jersey voters," said Pinkett, who was under consideration for Lt. Governor earlier this year.  "While Chris Christie would move the state backward by promoting the same, failed Bush economic policies that got us into this economic mess, Governor Corzine will continue to fight for what matters."

The Republicans offered no comment from former reality TV stars, but State Sen. Kevin O'Toole (R-Cedar Grove) took Christie's side.

"While Governor Corzine continued to distort and misrepresent Chris Christie's healthcare plan, thousands of New Jerseyans have lost their jobs and healthcare in the governor's economy. Try as he might, the governor cannot hide his poor record with millions in negative ads and attacks," said O'Toole.  "Families across New Jersey are struggling, and Chris spoke directly to their issues and concerns - creating jobs, fixing our economy and bringing a brighter future to New Jersey. New Jerseyans are ready for the needed change Chris Christie will bring."

Give it a rest

Only referring to Dr. Pinkett as an "ex-reality TV star" - particularly given his role as chair of Corzine's GOTV efforts - is just irresponsible journalism. Give it a rest already.

Deal with Reality

Pinkett is a Rhodes Scholar, businessman and author. He is MORE than a reality TV star, and he has a role in the Corzine campaign because he is MORE than a reality TV star. That's reality, deal with it.

Love

Not sure, but I don't think anyone has a gun to Pinkett's head and said go on a Reality show. Have any clue how many Rhodes Scholars would lower themselves to that level?

Candid Camera

Anyone who still uses sound bites from elections past continue to identify with the conditioning effect that is destroying the African American community. It is shameful that the backs of slaves would provide a promise for someone to use lazy remarks to excite loyalty that only represents a posture that emulates cronyism. The lifestyle Mr. Pinkett lives is far beyond the example that Christie has amassed as a public servant. The discipline that Mr. Pinkett institutes is what we have to contend with as residents who aspire to change the dialog for a future of representational democracy in a country that is suffering from disparity. Continuing the effort to insure part-time jobs for fulltime unemployment is not what I would promote as being successful. And the TV show that Mr. Pinkett was a star on is far from what I would think is creditable to become a representative for people that only viewed the series as entertainment. Mr. Pinkett this is the real world. Try walking down my block in the middle of the night and wishing that you had a job. All that has occured since Corzine began spending his kazillin dollars is to put up Adobe graphic photo edited posters with crappy phrases, served chicken dinners as an election day exercise and provided leadership that only you and a few others who know what it means to fool the public is trying so desperately to offer as a solution to our unfortunate demise. We were sold out for chicken change..now its time to get ready for the BIG PAYBACK! BTW - Welcome to New Jersey... You gotta live here before you can win here.
