Former U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie has accepted an invitation to testify before a congressional panel that is considering legislation to change the way federal monitors are hired in deferred prosecution agreements.  Christie, the Republican nominee for Governor, will appear before the House Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law next Thursday at 11 AM in Washington, the same day the Legislature is expected to vote on the state budget.

Christie says he will submit a written statement to the committee in advance, and has agreed to spend  2 ½ hours answering questions.
