The Chris Christie supporters are pulling out all the stops to continue to attack the party's consersative base. They have even pulled Bob Grant out of retirement and he is on the radio down here every few days attacking Lonegan supporters. One local radio host (Harry Hurley, who is in the pocket of the regular Republicans as well as the Atlantic City Democrats) has actually been cursing at Lonegan supporters on the air.

The theory is now that if Christie loses the plan is to blame the Lonegan supporters.

Rutgers University gave me an MS in Physics and a BS in both physics and computer science. I also own an Internet company and I am being soaked with all these taxes to pay for all these policial hacks.

As I see it, NJ is dommed either way. Either Corzine gets and things stay the same or Christie gets in and things stay the same. Only if Christie gets in the Regular Republicans will think they should continue doing business as they did in this past election. If that happens there is no hope for any kind of legitimacy in the Republican party.

In any case I expect to move to another state when I can in a couple years. Many people will be doing the same things. How many, I don't know. But it is going to be many high earners leaving and the Christie supports, political pundits on here, and the Democrats don't want to address that (or they just dismiss it). However, voting with your feet is a political process whether people on here want to admit it or not.

As for all the hatred being spewed by the Christie camp just listen to WIBG.com between 7 and 11 AM. Christie and Bob Grant are on there every couple days. They claim to be Christian station but they attack anyone who doesn't pay off Hurley and curse at Lonegan supporters.

Now Hurley has a lawyer sponsoring the show that is representing some of the people involved in the Atlantic City messenger ballots. According to Hurley, the State Police are trying to deny voting rights to Atlantic City residents. They claim Corzine is doing it so he will have a crime fighting records to go up against Christie.

If the Republicans would just put an honest candidate on the ballot I would vote for him/her even if I did not agree with many positions. In the case of Christie I simply don't believe anything he says and I will not vote for any candidate like anymore that no matter what party.

Lonegan supporters should in no way waste their time and energies on a futile effort.  This has nothing to do with poltics or polcies, it is a simple fact that Christie will join the long line of hand of handpicked candidates in November. 

If when in the voting both you want to vote for Christie that is fine.  But there are multiple Assembly races that the machine has either publically abandoned (D3) or simply refuses to even acknowledge (D25 and D15).  These are the candidates, plus local races if the candidate actually meets the standards of what a conservative is.

After November there will be maybe 25-26 Republican assembly members left.  If the winners are conservatives we can maybe change the leadership in the assembly from the failures that are there now.  Especially when some of the primary machine winners lose to Democrats in the fall, which many of them will.

The above poll shows Christie LOST 5 points since the last one, he fell from 53 to 50 and Corzine went from 38 to 40.  This will continue to happen until Corzine takes the lead for good. 

John Corzine has been re elected Governor through 2013, any other discussions about his campaign or reaching out are moot.  he has no chance of winning.

Let me try one more time here.  I would LOVE to be wrong, I DO NOT want John Corzine to be Governor of NJ past this year.  And if by some miracle you beat history and win I will be more then happy to eat some crow.  And if Chirtsie actually governs as a conservative I will eat lots of crow, this would make myself and others VERY happy, back flip down the hall kind of happy.

OC, GOREDNJ and the rest of you do not understand my point it appears.  Many people worked for Steve Lonegan because the people who are telling us that Chris Christie is the man are ALWAYS wrong (since 1993).  If Lonegan had not run my guess is Rcik Merkt would have done better.  Would he have done as well as Lonegan, no way because he lacked name recognition.  But many would have gone to him simply because he was not the handpicked person.  We like Steve Lonegan's polcies and beleived he is the better candidate, but one the reasons we believed that is because many of you other insiders did not.

You cannot argue the factual list that I always type out.  YES Lonegan has lost many elections as well, but he has always had to bang his head against the machine wall.  This is as we have seen. virtually impossible to achieve.  He has not had the chance to get his ideas out there in a general election because he is always stoppsed, regardless of the office, by people inside becasue they do not like him personally.

I have no idea whether I have liked or disliked any of the other state wide candidates personally (other then Tom Kean Jr who I do like) but up until last year I always did what I was told.  But the fact remains that this was not a real primary.   The establisment lined up behind who some higher ups said this was going to be the candidate this time.  Steve Lonegan was never given a chance to compete for these votes, the fix was in from the beginning.  And anyone who strayed from this orthodoxy was bullied into cooperation.  And you all know it.

Lonegan did the absolute best he could with what was available considering what he was up against.  It is now up to others to determine what happens. 

As I said, if Christie wins I will be very happy.  I so not believe he is a conservative but if he wins he will have the chnace to prove me wrong, which I will ne more then happy to be.  My arguement has not been for some time now about policy or ideas.  It has been very simply that many of us simply do not trust the leadership anymore to decide what is best.  This is what the Lonegan campaign was all about in many cases.  It was why there were two actual lines this time around.  You think all of those people who ran for office on our line did so for no reason?!  You think people put themselves out there for abuse and ridicule from their own side because they liked it?!  Or because they really do want to win and make things better?!

The point is not missed ... the Chritie supporters are doing anything they can to divert attention from the real problems. That way they can keep milking the system. Most of the $150K people with state jobs and contracts would make $50K in the real world.

Anybody who thinks independents and democrats would be more receptive to Lonegan's caveman conservatism and bourbonesque tax policies than GOP primary voters is putting something in their kool-aid. Even Paul Mulshine, Lonegan's water carrier in the mainstream media, conceded that the only voting bloc receptive to Lonegan's plan would be NJ primary voters, and they voted against it.

I can't imagine how any rational person can possibly believe that Lonegan could win among independents and democrats when he can't even get passed GOP primary voters who are generally better educated, have higher incomes, and are politically more sophisticated than the other groups.

Obviously the polling director wasn't pleased with the data this poll revealed. lol

He is clearly misrepresenting the polling results. For instance, when he says that “The numbers on which Corzine must focus are the 19 percent of Democrats who are voting for Chris Christie and Christie’s 24-point edge among independents...".

Christie went up amongst ALL groups: Republicans, Democrats and Independents. To say that all Corzine has to do is win back those 19% of the Democrats supporting Christie is--easier said then done! Consider the fact that Christie was getting 13% of registered Democrats and 52% of Independents in their previous poll and even then, he had a 7pt lead.

The fact is that it's not simply a matter of isolating whose a Democrat, and Independent and a Republican--Christie improved on his numbers across the board. He's beating Corzine amongst men and women. He made significant inroads with black voters and urban voters. In 2005, Corzine was ahead amongst voters who thought he was honest by a margin of 50-26. Now he's losing in that area by 42-44. Likewise, in 2005 he was ahead amongst voters who were asked if Corzine "cares about the needs and problems of people like you" by a margin of 49-35. Now he's losing that group by a margin of 43-49.

Christie's primary victory was extremely broad. There was a side-by-side comparison of the primary between Schundler/ Franks from 2001 on RealClearPolitics showing how Schundler dominated north jersey but had only soft support down south. Flash forward to 2009, where Christie carried the majority of districts that went to Bob Franks and the majority of districts that Bret Schundler won. That's significant because it indicates that he has strong supports across the state.

If I was Jon Corzine, I'd worry less about winning back registered Democrats and worry more about the fact that I'm losing white voters by 24%, I'm losing amongst women voters and Chris Christie is winning 18% of the black vote.

I'm so glad all you so called mature and well versed "adults" are acting like a bunch of 3rd graders arguing over a lunch trade. Let's all save the bickering and stick measuring for somewhere else, the primary is over and you've gone from discussion to whining. The polls don't measure the number of people leaving NJ. Even a report paid for by Corzine admits high earners are leaving at a high rate. there is no way to measure how many people decide not to come here in the first place:
