The Senate Judiciary Committee, voting along party lines, voted 7-4 to approve the nomination of Jeanne Fox for another term on the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. The nomination will now head to the full Senate for a vote. The Senate is scheduled for a session next Monday.
A motion by State Sen. Jennifer Beck (R-Red Bank) to postpone a vote by the panel was also defeated 7-4.
State Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Teaneck) said that BPU Commissioner Elizabeth Randall and former BPU Commissioner Carol Murphy, both Republicans, were present at the hearing and were in support of Fox's nomination.
