Corzine approvals remain upside-down as most voters say he shouldn't get second term

Gov. Jon Corzine has an upside-down 43%-46% job approval rating

Gov. Jon Corzine continues to struggle with his fifth negative approval rating this year -- 43%-46% -- according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released today.  But those numbers are better than his 40%-51% approval rating in a September 17 Quinnipiac poll.  More than half of New Jersey voters (51%) say he doesn't deserve to be re-elected, while just 37% say he does.

New Jerseyans, by a 54%-30% margin, don't want Corzine to be Barack Obama's Secretary of the Treasury.

Only 10% of New Jersey voters say things have gotten better in New Jersey since Corzine became Governor, while 44% say they’ve gotten worse and 43% say they are the same.  Voters are split 45%-45% on the public release of e-mails between Corzine and his former girlfriend, union leader Carla Katz.  Last June, most voters (52%) said they should be kept private.

Treasury Sec

Most people dont want Corzine as Treasury Secretary because they dont want the national economic situation to get any worse. We all know the economic climate Corzine and his liberal friends have caused in this state. Corzine and his friends give the NJ taxpayer the Jim McGreevey special.

Treasury Secretary

Rrrrrrrright. When he is done printing money to spend, a dollar will be worth about the same as a Deutchmark in 1931.

The first gubernatorial candidate

who comes up with a REAL economic plan for NJ wins! The end!

The Corzine disaster.

This guy is making Jim Florio look like Thomas Jerfferson and Bill Cahill like Alexander Hamilton!

He is without question the worst governor in political memory.

He has no tangible accomplishments and has ignored the state's most pressing problems which is property taxes and state spending.

He is a tackling dummy for the public employee unions like the NJEA who get whatever they want while the economy goes to hell in a hand basket.

His supposed financial genius is nowhere to be found as the state mires in more debt, taxes and spending.

The fact he's not from NJ and is detached from residents is quite evident in his demeanor and governance.

His insistence on 100,000 low income housing units and continued support for COAH will destroy Democrats in suburban communities and cause state Democrats to even possible lose one or both house of the legislature.

His support of things like EnCap and Xanadu will be his unraveling as he seems to have no tangible vision or direction for the state and most Democrats want him off the ticket if not for selfish reasons. His obsession with Christie and the "corruption" factor shows his lack of political intelligence as he surrounds himself with perrenial hacks cashing in a big pay day.

They support Corzine not because he can win, they support him because they'll make plenty of consulting fees.

Vote Column "A" - All the way!

Our Governor, HAS NO BALLS!

Times are difficult here in the Good Old NJ.  Property Taxes are over the top, Corruption always seems to hover over the State House and the majority party, seems to be sterile in making smart financial decisions.

As Governor, I would slash most department budgets by 25%

As the Big G, I would reduce the State employment workforce HOURS to 24 hours a week, with 50% of the workers going into work Monday, Tuesday and WED and  the other 50% working WED, Thursday and Friday. Only Wednesday would their be 100% in the office.

I would streamline the procurement departments, request all house members take a 25% pay cut, or via executive order, I would order the necessary staff cuts to make the difference.

Anyone employed as a "patronage employee: would lose their jobs across every department, including the courts.

All State cars would be parked, all gas cards returned and a major effeciency operation would go into effect, from the purchase of pencils to the purchase of engines.

I believe that LESS IS MORE, so State operations would shrink by 50% over a six month period from January to June of 09, no job would be safe after June of 2009.

The State would seek bids and reduce State employment to the point of Administration operations only for most departments. In other words by the end of 2010, State employment would be down to 90% of what it is today.  Doing this would narrow the pension costs, legacy costs, medical insurance costs etc, It will allow for a 50% reduction in Property Taxes and I would consolidate county operations including the school districts to 21 school districts and so on down the line.

The State management of local and county government would be reorganized into the 21st century, instead of operating in the 17th century, private fiefdoms would be eliminated, buddy deals all gone, township managers, etc will all be gone, $200,000 school administrators gone, top heavy municipalaties gone, archaic, fossilized methods of operations gone.

A NJ governor with balls can make the changes and the people and the business community will be 100% a ballsy governor.

The current governor has a cozy out of his mess, WORKING FOR OBAMA, Tell me really di Corzine have to campaign for  Hillary and Obama, travelingto raise money, when he should have been in the State raising money to pay for needed programs?

Corzine wants out, he just won't admit it!!!

Corzine

Corzine may have been a genius at making himself rich, but he has been a disaster as governer. He has been a whipping boy for the public employees unions, who I am sure love him. His shady dealings with Carla Katz made him an embarrassment to the state, if that's even possible anymore. If there is any sense left, this clown should never be allowed to hold public office again, anywhere - with the possible exception of dog catcher.
