State Sen. Leonard Lance (R-Flemington) defeated Assemblywoman Linda Stender (D-Fanwood) in a hotly contested race for Congress in New Jersey's 7th district, keeping the seat of retiring U.S. Rep. Mike Ferguson in Republican hands. Lance beat Stender by a 51%-42% margin.
Stender came within 1% of defeating Ferguson in 2006.

A blowout!
51%-42% margin is not insignificant. A moderate Republican is perfect for that district.
Linda Stender...
I hope Stender runs again, for the simple reason that I love the "Stender is a Spender" ads.
Margin
That's a pretty large margin. It was well-deserved, though. Lance ran an efficient campaign. He's also a great guy who will serve New Jersey well.
He'll also definitely cross the aisle with the newly-elected Adler and make things happen for New Jersey.
Thats what you get Stender
For pushing Clinton on us at a local College with State funding where you shouldn't have partisan politics - maybe the UCC College Chair should have Lance in for a Rally :-)
