Rosenthal will head legislative ethics panel
By EditorDr. Alan Rosenthal, a political science professor at Rutgers University, has been named chairman of the Joint Legislative Committee on Ethical Standards. The announcement was made jointly by the Legislature's Democratic and Republican leadership, who named him under a new law that removes incumbent legislators from the watchdog panel.
"Without question, Dr. Rosenthal is the premier expert on state legislatures in the country," said Senate President Richard Codey (D-Essex). "His experience is second to none and his integrity is above reproach. He has also been a national leader in developing programs which promote civic education and the democratic process, such as the NCSL's 'Legislators-Go-Back-to School' program. I'm confident he will give this newly reconstituted committee the ethical muscle it deserves."
Each of the four legislative leaders get two appointments to the panel. Rosenthal is the ninth member.

Alan is an excellent choice or rather the obvious choice to anyone who has either read his books, sat in his class at Eagleton or knows his past preformance as chair of other state-wide ethic blueribbon panels. Does anyone know who else will sit onthe committee? And who did they pick for ELEC Executive Director? If no choice has been made as to the new ELEC Executive Director maybe Corzine should seek advice from the committe on that selection?
