Poag will be Obama N.J. spokesman
By EditorAndrew Poag will take a leave of absence from Gov. Jon Corzine’s staff to serve as Communications Director for Barack Obama’s New Jersey campaign. Poag worked for the Democratic State Committee during Corzine’s 2005 campaign, and served in the transition office before joining the Governor’s communications staff in 2006.

Wait Sen. Obama Stopped Hiring Out of State Rookies
Well it’s about time. Now don’t get me wrong it’s not this way all over the NJ. Unfortunately, in some key counties in the state Obama’s field people are inexperienced running a field campaign to fruition let alone one in New Jersey. In an even bigger kick in the pants a lot of our County Chair’s weren’t even consulted or apprised of their appointments. This being said I am now presented with a quandary on the one hand they have been with Sen. Obama since his earlier primaries and proven their loyalty but on the other hand I keep having this nagging thought that the existing infrastructure might just have a better idea of the current political landscape in their respective counties. Furthermore, in counties that have “machine” type politics wouldn’t it be prudent to have someone who knows the proverbial buttons to push. Instead of someone whose previous experience amounts to interning under a regional field directors desk (Yes! I mean you, you know who you are). I’m happy to see that the fluctuating polling numbers in NJ has finally got the attention of the campaign and I believe the hiring of experienced NJ staff is a step in the right direction. We can only hope Mr.Poag’s hiring is an indicator of a pervasive trend.
