Republicans tonight elected State Sen. Bill Baroni to serve as Chairman of the New Jersey Delegation to the Republican National Convention. Baroni is the Chairman of John McCain’s New Jersey campaign. Atlantic County GOP Chairman Keith Davis and Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose were named to the Platform Committee.
Other committee assignments: David Norcross and Virginia Haines, the two Republican National Committee members, will serve on the Rules Committee; GOP State Chairman Tom Wilson and fundraiser Cheryl Halpern are on the credentials committee; and Bergen County Clerk Kathleen Donovan and Rick Mroz, a former Counsel to Gov. Christie Whitman, are on the Convention Arrangements Committee.

Don't Get It?
Baroni was one of the few who helped pass the Paid Family Leave act which is going to hurt many employees and businesses, especially non-union ones.
Many Repubs are angry for what they thought was a betrayal.
Are they appointing him to keep him busy and overworked so he can't do his day job?
I get it!
Even though there are times that I don't agree with Baroni, I think over all he has done great job as a Senator.
Baroni is the future of the Republican Party and those who don't see it are short sighted. He believed in McCain, even when no one thought McCain would win the Presidential Primary.
It is this type of fortitude that has earned him this honor.
Good luck Bill, I know you will be sucessful.
Here's why Obama is up by 6
This is a big message to conservatives: you are not wanted in the Republican Party and you are not needed in November.
The McCain campaign is operating on the theory that all conservatives are racists and will never let an African-American win the White House. Boy are they in for a big surprise. John McCain makes Bob Dole look like Ronald Reagan.
Congratulations
Congratulations Bill, you certainly deserve the title of Chairman for the New Jersey Delegation for sticking with McCain the entire way through.
I can't believe some people would turn this into an ideology thing. It's about Senator Baroni's role as a McCain supporter, and he has been the biggest and most effective voice in the state for Senator McCain.
Anyone who really cares about "conservative" ideology in this case should look to McHose being named to the Platform Committee.
The only "conservatives" who won't vote for McCain are people who are so stubborn and stuck on their ideology that they always believe they are right and have no tolerance or acceptance for anyone who thinks differently than them on an issue here or there, or even just one issue.
Have fun being stubborn Rick. You'll only have yourself and your buddies to blame for an Obama presidency, which won't hopefully happen.
Just Curious...
Does anyone know if there are any minority GOP representatives in the NJ delegation?
McCain and Baroni: pehfict tugethuh
Yep. These two are peas in a pod. Advocates and practicioners of unprincipled, big government; war mongering; no respect for the U.S. Constitution; and domestic fascism.
Wasn't Baroni ?
Wasn't Baroni a big Rudy G. supporter who left him in the lerch & switched when he saw McCain was the guy. Great lesson in loyalty Bill!
Re: PenningtonPrep
No, Baroni has been with McCain the whole time. Even when McCain was at like 10% in the GOP primary polls, Baroni was in his camp.
