Burzichelli: On Christie's travel spending, DeCroce pulls the covers over his head

WHEN IT COMES TO CHRISTIE'S TRAVEL SPENDING,
DeCROCE PULLS THE COVERS OVER HIS HEAD

(Trenton) – Following the revelation that Chris Christie lived well off the taxpayers' credit card while traveling as United States Attorney, Assemblyman John Burzichelli today challenged Assembly Republican Leader Alex DeCroce to follow the lead he and his own office have set and denounce the extravagant spending.

A recent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request uncovered that Christie frequently overspent on travel expenses during his tenure as United States Attorney. Some of the expenses included $400-per-night hotel rooms.

Under DeCroce, the Assembly Republican Office has often used the state Open Public Records Act (OPRA) as its primary research source to uncover wasteful spending. After one such request, Minority Leader DeCroce questioned state education officials over hotel stays of $200 – less than half of the cost of Christie's rooms. DeCroce also has uncovered such profligate spending as one school employee ordering crab cakes for dinner while on travel.

“People who cannot pay their mortgage or utility bills will understandably be upset when they learn of the ways money is being squandered,” DeCroce said at the time. He also said that the OPRA findings showed individuals “staying at posh hotels such as the Four Seasons.”

In October 2008, Christie spent one night at the Four Seasons in Washington to the tune of $475. His former top deputy and occasional travel partner, Michelle Brown, also exceeded federal travel guidelines, often staying at the same hotels.

"When it comes to denouncing Chris Christie for exhibiting the exact same conduct he has been so quick to criticize before, it seems that Mr. DeCroce's desire is as cool as, well, the other side of the pillow," said Burzichelli.

Say no to Christie and Corzine. Vote Daggett

Don't by that GOP non-sense that Daggett is a plant funded by Corzine.

Fact is Daggett has no funds at all.

Futhermore, Chris Daggett nailed Christie and Corzine for corruption in 3rd Debate

You really have to hand it to Chris Daggett. Not only did he stand toe to toe with Jon Corzine and Chris Christie he really nailed it to them in the 3rd NJ  Gubernatorial Debate. Once again, for the third time in a row, I give this as a notch for Daggett.

Chris Daggett handed it to both Christie and Corzine for corruption saying to fight corruption you need to lead by example.

Daggett then cited specific corrupt activities that Christie and Corzine had engaged in, including illegal campaign finance and pay to play, and neither Corzine or Christie could defend themselves.

Instead, Corzine acknowledges that activity is going on and agrees with Daggett that it needs to stop.
