ROBERTS ANNOUNCES DEMOCRATIC ASSEMBLY CAMPAIGN STEERING COMMITTEE

Speaker Brings Together Party Leaders to Ensure Strong Future
For Assembly's Democratic Majority
(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts today announced the formation of a steering committee of leading Assembly Democrats to help guide the final two months of this year's legislative campaigns and ensure the future of the chamber's Democratic majority.
Roberts said the steering committee would ensure Democratic success this November and provide a stepping stone for the continuation of the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee into the 2011 election cycle. The Speaker announced last week that he will not seek re-election this November.
“Just as I am actively engaged in helping Democratic Assembly candidates across the state, I am asking several of my colleagues to join me in overseeing our efforts to retain our solid majority,” said Roberts. “Asking more of our party leaders to take active roles in these races will begin the transition of the campaign committee and position it for continued success.”
The members of the steering committee are:
- Assemblyman Joseph Cryan
- Speaker Pro Tempore Jerry Green
- Assemblyman Lou Greenwald
- Assemblywoman Nellie Pou
- Majority Leader Bonnie Watson Coleman
- Assemblyman John Wisniewski
“Every member shares in the future success of our majority,” said Roberts. “This team knows how to win and will ensure every Democratic seat in the current Assembly remains a Democratic seat come January.”
