ROBERTS COMMENDS KOLLURI APPOINTMENT
TO HEAD-UP SCHOOLS CONSTRUCTION EFFORT

(TRENTON) - Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts, Jr. today applauded the appointment of state Transportation Commissioner Kris Kolluri to be the new chief executive officer of the Schools Development Authority - the state's $12.5 billion school construction program.

Roberts said Kolluri's tenure as the head of the Department of Transportation has earned him a well-regarded reputation as an effective and efficient manager who can be trusted to oversee the multi-billion-dollar effort. Kolluri will assume his new post next month.

Roberts (D-Camden) released the following statement:

"Kris Kolluri is exactly the type of administrator the SDA needs to jumpstart the school construction effort and complete the job of restoring the agency's reputation.

"As state transportation chief, Kris has shown a keen ability to simultaneously, efficiently and effectively manage many projects.

"His focus on ensuring that state investments get to the areas where they are most sorely needed will be invaluable when the goal is to build the schools our children will need to learn in a 21st century environment.

"Governor Corzine should be congratulated for recognizing Kris' managerial strengths and putting him in a position where they will be put to great use."
