ROBERTS: FRED HERRMANN'S RETIREMENT LEAVES LARGE SHOES TO FILL AT ELEC
(TRENTON) -- Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts, Jr. (D-Camden) today released the following statement upon learning that Fred Hermann, executive director of the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission, has chosen to retire under the state's early retirement program:
"Fred Herrmann is a true professional who ensured ELEC fairly and evenly enforced state election laws.
"Especially as we implemented the Clean Elections pilot program during the past two state election cycles, Fred could always be counted upon to give the complex issues that arose his full and swift attention.
"Fred's paramount concern was maintaining ELEC's reputation for being unbiased and nonpartisan. On that count, his tenure as executive director can be counted as a great success.
"Fred will be sorely missed by all of us who relied upon his detailed analysis and educated opinion. I wish him all the best in his retirement."
