AMID TAX CRISIS, BRUSH SUPER GENEROUS TO HIS FRIENDS REWRITES EMPLOYEE MANUAL TO REWARD BUDDIES
By now, everyone in Dover Township has heard the story about how Paul Brush is the subject of a lawsuit for the termination of former personnel director, Richard Vasil. The excuse given to Vasil at the time he was terminated was the fact hat he did not wear a tie, (he hadn't worn a tie for many, many years and wearing ties is not a requirement in Town Hall) and because he locked the door to his office, a personnel director's office containing confidential files when he went to lunch.Contact: Ginny Haines: 732.267.0262
PRESS RELEASE
AMID TAX CRISIS, BRUSH SUPER GENEROUS TO HIS FRIENDS
REWRITES EMPLOYEE MANUAL TO REWARD BUDDIES
September 21, 2005
By now, everyone in Dover Township has heard the story about how Paul Brush is the subject of a lawsuit for the termination of former personnel director, Richard Vasil. The excuse given to Vasil at the time he was terminated was the fact hat he did not wear a tie, (he hadn’t worn a tie for many, many years and wearing ties is not a requirement in Town Hall) and because he locked the door to his office, a personnel director’s office containing confidential files when he went to lunch.
Even someone with the most rudimentary understanding of the law can see that this is a serious problem for Mr. Brush and he has exposed the Township to potentially exorbitant costs and fees.
But that’s only half the story.
It seems that right after Mr.. Brush got rid of Mr. Vasil, he installed his own man in the job. Shortly thereafter, Brush changed the rules of employment in Dover Township, adding in some cases a 300% increase in vacation time to those of his cronies, who have enjoyed Mr. Brush’s generosity with the tax dollars of Dover Township residents.
“Mr. Brush’s unilateral change in policy, and his outlandish rewarding of his own political cronies with exorbitant pay and outrageous benefits, is costing the Township tens of thousands of dollars, each and every year. It’s a disgrace, and the public needs to be made aware, “, says Ginny Haines, Vice Chairwoman of the Dover Township Republican Committee.
Continued Haines, “at a time when Mr. Brush has proposed another tax increase on the already over-burdened citizens of our community, tens of thousands here and tens of thousands there can make a real difference. It’s becoming increasingly clear, that Mr. Brush has not wanted the Town Council to be involved in the budgetary discussions, because as the Council people and others begin to look at what’s going on in Town Hall, Mr. Brush’s dirty little secrets inevitably leak out.
