District 39 Democrats

ARIYAN, FLETCHER AND MANNA KICK-OFF BID TO REPRESENT 39TH

Team Pledged to Bring Responsive Representation to Trenton and Deliver the District’s Fair Share

Dumont–Saturday Joseph Ariyan (D-Saddle River), Councilwoman Esther Fletcher (D-River Edge) and Councilman Carl Manna (D-Dumont) formally kicked off their campaigns for Senate and Assembly surrounded by supporters and County and District 39 representatives at a kick-off event in Dumont.

“It’s time for a change in the 39th,Ariyan said to a crowd of supporters. “For too long, the people of District 39 have settled on the status quo. “With your help, Esther, Carl and myself will make sure District 39 sees the response we deserve.

The candidates and 200 of their supporters gathered Saturday evening at the Dumont Elk’s Lodge in Dumont as the official recipients of the Party’s support for the coming elections in June and November.

“This district deserves more, it deserves an advocate who is responsive to the needs and ideals of their constituents, said Fletcher, a River Edge Councilwoman. “People from across the district have told me they don’t feel they’re properly represented and that they’re ready for a legislative team that’s not going to tolerate more of the same in Trenton.

“The Democratic Party in Bergen County has come a long way in recent years, said Dumont Councilman Manna. “After last year’s upset in Northvale, there are more than a half a dozen towns in District 39 that have gone Democratic. “Together we can add to that list and provide the district with real representation.

The slate brings a fresh outlook and demonstrated dedication to District 39. Ariyan currently serves as the Public Advocate for Land Use in Bergen County, Commissioner of the Northwest Bergen Couty Utilities Authority and is a partner at law firm Ariyan, Khoury & Schildiner, LLP. He resides in Saddle River with his wife Susan and infant son Joseph. Fletcher has worked in the districts schools for more than a decade and currently serves her community as councilwoman of River Edge. She is a dedicated supporter of the Democratic Party and has worked to help fellow Democrats get elected on a variety of levels of government. She’s married with two teenage children. Manna has been a resident of Dumont for 30 years and currently serves as Councilman for the borough. He recently retired from the New York Stock Exchange and has utilized his financial expertise to confront Dumont’s financial problems head on. He serves on the Mayor’s Advisory Board and the Mayor’s committee of local religious leaders. He’s married with three grown children.
